Heyoka is a western charged firecracker. We conjured the classics in Chinook and Amarillo then laid them on a bed of pale malt. This India Pale Ale shoots straight to the bitter edge before falling into a mellow haze. Deep gold, 7% ABV and ready to travel into the distance. The Heyoka resides in the opposite and is said to use the wind as sticks to beat the drum of thunder.

Can. Pours hazy gold with a white head. Nice dank piney some, with a lighter fruity citric pithy flavor, and moderate bitterness. Good stuff; very drinkable.

Can. as pictured. Orangey pour, some white head. Very nice beer. Heavy on the hop character without being too overpowering...a little citrus, a little pine, but very well balanced. Certainly not one-dimensional. Nice crisp finish with a hint of sweetness.

Can shared at Max’s. Pours hazy gold with a creamy white head. Gorgeous aroma, so fresh and vibrant, with lots of grapefruit, melon, lemon. Light to medium sweet flavor, a little pithy, with mellow rindy bitterness, lots of juicy citrus fruits, slight pine. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Balanced finish, great and juicy hop character, further fresh citrus, mild dry pith. Outstanding.

Tallboy from Ogilvie. Pours clear golden orange with off white head. Aromas of tangerine, citrusy hops, grass, bit of pale malt. Flavor of grassy and citrusy hops particularly orange and tangerine with enough malt to keep it honest. Packs nice bitter finish. At $3 a can makes for a nice train ride home.

Hazy golden-orange, large head. Very subtle hops aroma. Taste is some tropical flavor and candied orange peel moving to bitter pine resin. Dry citrus finish. Clean body, not heavy but not a pushover either.
