COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Heyoka is a western charged firecracker. We conjured the classics in Chinook and Amarillo then laid them on a bed of pale malt. This India Pale Ale shoots straight to the bitter edge before falling into a mellow haze. Deep gold, 7% ABV and ready to travel into the distance. The Heyoka resides in the opposite and is said to use the wind as sticks to beat the drum of thunder.

Complex hop punch filled with bitterness and fruitiness. This is my kind of IPA! I got this in a growler from half acre. Brilliant beer. Nothing subtle in this one. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a slightly hazy orange with a thick and creamy white head...nice lacing and retention. Aroma has notes of orange, grapefruit, and floral/hoppy spice...slight pine accent. Flavor is a nice mix of grapefruit, fresh hoppy spice, and mild pine. The mouthfeel is medium/full and the finish is dry and earthy/resinous...just right. Great beer.

Had from can purchased at brewery. Bright orange pour. Nice citrusy, hoppy smell. Tastes orangey, pithy, and bitter. Loved the true hop aroma wafting from the empty can. Top shelf. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

poured from a 16oz can into a pint glass smells like gummy bears and citrus a very differant and enjoyable aroma. taste is very differant than aroma pine lemon very bitter the abv of this beer is well hidden by the bitterness and the amarillo hops. i like this one very differant a little heavy on the bitterness but solid none the less.

Purchased at Bottles and Cans in Chicago, IL; enjoyed at home on a rainy dark October weeknight, a sign of the crappy weather to come. This stuff is fantastic though! Appearance is a slightly cloudy gold with a rich frothy white head. Aroma is ripe with grapefruit, pineapple, light malt, smells delicious. Taste is equally delicious, goes down with a light bitterness and fantastic, nice tropical fruit notes, finish is more pine, really well done.

Poured from a 16oz can. Aroma is pine, citrus, and Vienna malt. Flavors are pine, citrus, grapefruit, and Vienna malt. Great balanced Ipa, nice and bitter up front but goes down nice and smooth, not a lot of lingering bitterness. Love This beer!

Sampled at STL Hops 6th Anniversary Party - This was one of the highlights of the party. Pours clear yellow/gold with a small white head. The aroma has tropical hops, cattiness, pine and light malt - very hop forward. It has a medium / light body with soft carbonation. The flavor begins with pine, grapefruit, tropical fruit and dry cracker malt. The finish is even fruitier. This is great. Alcohol is very hidden. I was expecting this to be much lower when I pulled it up to enter the rating.

Tasted on tap at Whole Foods in Chicago. It poured a hazy golden hue with a frothy white head. Bright citrus hop aroma with a powerful hop taste and a pleasantly bitter finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap, poured into a shaker. Grassy and herbal notes come through primarily on the nose with some caramel and bread crust. There’s also a slight cheese / lactose note in there. It pours a clear honey gold with a soft, creamy, foamy white head. A puffy, sparkling and sticky sheet lace is left behind and it retains a medium thick, soft ring with a dusty-thin surface layer. The oily textured, medium body beer has a soft, light, zippy carbonation. A citrus, toast, grass, and spice combination finishes this one. It’s nice, clean, and dry with a spicy and herby, bitter grapefruit peel, and toast in the aftertaste. Very easy drinking.

Pour out of 16 oz can, hazy orange pour with white head, aroma brought notes of pineapple, grapefruit, orange, some mango into nice floral, herbal hops, some slight grass with a hint of caramel. Taste was bitter earth, grass, and herbs into sweet orange, grapefruit, and mango, slight white fruits, some caramel finishing bitter. Nicely done.
