COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer has had residency for some time and now it’s time that it visits your home. King Puff is an International Lager brewed with Popcorn. Turns out, this kernel cowboy is a summer splasher. There’s little else that needs to be said.

Draft at GTMW. Had to give it a whirl. Pours a brilliant pale gold with a fleeting white head. The nose is grainier than expected with a sweetness coming through, maize notes and ethanol. Minimal hop notes. On tasting, it’s on the sweeter side, but only because it lacks the bitter balance. Pretty spot on for a ML, just leaves a lot to be desired overall as a beer. Good malt flavor mingling with the thin maize profile. Decent.

Hazzzy yellow with a white head. Aroma of corn and toast. Taste is sweet corn and honey with light hops and alcohol finish. The alcohol kinda ruins it, but its almost impossible to avoid in the style.

Few samples on draft at the tap room (Chicago, IL). Not a beer I was all that excited about. Pours a richly hazed golden hue, glowing with bits of orange. Bright frothy head dies to a mellow film, laces small overall. Aromas preach touches of fruit, grainy malts and corn. Gentle sweet malts, bready and cereal, touches of straw. Mellow touches of fruit, fairly smooth and inviting on the nose. Simple with a pleasant underlying fruity quality, smooth, doable. Doesn’t pop of course. Initial is a bit dry up front, touches of dry grainy malts, straw, and cereal dryness moving into a mellow sweet, touch hot middle. Bready malts, dough, touches of gentle lemon, grass, some apple elements. Dry and touches of mellow earthy hops into the finish, a touch of almost biting spice, dry hops, kiss of heat. Overall, this is well executed for what it is. Some good dryness, keeping sweetness at bay. Kiss of heat is mellow, let’s you know what it is, but doesn’t interfere. Quite interesting. Not bad, honestly.
