One of the better pale lagers I’ve ever had. Nice lively hop taste, without being an IPA. Refreshing. All pale lagers should be like this.

Poured from growler purchased by sherm1016. Thanks. Very fine lager. Orange with white head. Pretty spicy for a lager...tasty.

Poured from a growler from Half Acre. Pours a crystal clear, light amber color with a thin white head. Aroma is light, bready, faint bitter hops. Medium on the palate with average carbonation. Flavor is sweet, malty, bread, nutty, some bitter pine hops, with a light bitter finish. Very nice.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Treebs (733) - , Illinois, USA - MAR 10, 2013
Enjoyed on tap at the Half Acre taproom. Served in a pint glass.
A: Pours a golden amber color with a pure white head forming on the pour. It recedes slowly to a thin cap that leaves sticky sheets of lace down the glass.
S: Vienna malt with light fruity hops. Some mild citrus with a lager yeast sweetness.
T: Same as the nose. The Vienna malt is stronger and sweeter than the nose. Lagery yeast is present again with very light grass and fruity hops on the backend providing a touch of bitterness.
M: Light bodied with a medium carbonation level. Sweet malt finish.
O: Solid lager overall. Wouldn’t order this too often, but it’s very well put together.
Serving type: bottle
3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 brian60625 (609) - Illinois, USA - FEB 4, 2013
5 ounce taster at the tap room, which is labeled on the menu as having a slightly heightened 6% abv. Aroma is funky, sweet malts. Appearance is golden with white foam on top, low amount of lacing and low bubble action. My tastebuds picked up on apple, bread, and some skunk. Palate is light and a little watery. Overall, this beer feels pretty traditional and sits in tough company among all the other creative options at the tap room. It’s still nice to have it available as a taste of the brewery’s beginnings.

Pours mid amber with malt notes off the start. Notes of dense grain drink quite refreshingly. For a straight up lager, this is fantastic.

Clear orange with a white head. Grassy hop aroma. Taste is lightly sweet caramel malt with light toast and and dry spicy hop finish.
2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 crossovert (4525) - Wisconsin, USA - APR 1, 2012
UPDATED: APR 12, 2012 No diacetyl, but this lager does nothing for me. Imported hops, yeast. and malt would have helped.
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Newk (299) - - MAR 26, 2012
poured from growler into a pilsner glass. Pours a medium gold color
very good aromas of grains, malts, and cereal. Nice balance, but lacking some depth
medium bodied with good balance and a good feel. This is lacking on the middle and finish though with notes of grains and malts
I was hoping for a bit better, but a very drinkable beer
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Pawola22 (3071) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAR 24, 2012
Poured from a growler picked up at the brewery. Pours a lightly clouded, deep golden colored body with a finger-width, frothy, off-white head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing throughout. Aroma is light floral hops, slightly sweetened and crisp bready pale malts, and a few lager yeast fruits. Flavor is similar. Crisp, lightly sweetened pale malts with some breadiness balanced well with a light floral hopping. A touch of caramel in the middle and a hint of toast before this finishes dry and slightly grainy with a lightly spiced, light citrus, light bready sweetness that leaves a crisp, light, balanced bitterness. Lengthy aftertaste following a light, crisp, smooth body and a soft, moderate carbonation. Overall, a solid, easy drinking, crisp lager with a nice floral hopping and a balanced, light sweetened bready pale malt. Very enjoyable.
