Mar 30, 2008 12 oz bottle from . Pours a clear amber with an off white head. Nose is light but malty. Some toffee with a tough of noble hops. Smooth clean toffee caramel and dough flavors with a decent dose of hops. Piney, citrus, and floral hop notes that linger after this slides down. I had virtually no desire to try this Premium Lager, but if you get this fresh, it actually tastes much closer to a decent amber ale. I can’t imagine a premium lager better than this. Lets see if this surprising quality can keep up when they start brewing it themselves.

Mar 27, 2008 Updated: Apr 2, 2008On tap @ the Drake in Chicago. Pours light golden amber with bright white head and good lacing. Aroma is floral hops. Lightly hoppy, earthy and citrus. Not bad. Best thing on tap all night.

Feb 10, 2008 poured a golden amber with a nice white head from a 12 oz. bottle. Orangish aroma that’s appealing. Moderate carbonation. Slightly sweet flavor, with a nice hoppy balance. Seems more like an IPA rather than a lager. Really enjoyed this .

Feb 6, 2008 12 oz. bottle via trade with jsquire - Pours a hazy amber color with a one finger thick off white head. Very light spotty lacing. Aroma is very light malt and herbal hops. Faint soapiness too. Flavor has an odd maltiness to it. Medium body. To be honest, I’m not getting much Lager character from this beer. It is somewhat smooth, but not real palatable. It’s just an odd beer. Thanks Jeff.

Jan 17, 2008 I must confess that I don’t understand the previous six ratings. My only explanation is that what I got from the tap at the bar had barley that came from the wrong half of the acre. Looked fine, a deep golden body with a substantial head. Smelled off, soured pale malt with a whiff of grassy bitterness. Tasted off, some bready malt, an odd sourness and metallica, but at least had a solidly bitter finish. Jan 14, 2008 12 oz bottle, via jsquire. Pours a hazy orangish body with a small fizzy off-white head that faded to a thin film quickly. The nose is bready and lightly toasted malt. The flavor is slightly sweet with toasted malt and a slight almost rye bread like earthiness. Finishes with a fairly bright citrusy hop bite. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a watery texture and fizzy forced carbonation. Overall, nothing special, but well above what I was expecting from it. It really has the hopping level of an APA or some of the lighter IPAs.

Oct 18, 2007 Murky orangish color with a big rocky off white head. Malty nose with hints of bread, honey and orange. Orange peel, caramel sweetness, some lightly toasted bread, with a long citrus hop finish. More flavorful than your average premium lager. At $9.99 a six pack in Chicago I don’t know as how I’d ever buy it again.

Oct 5, 2007 This great new beer had a copper-ish colour with a foamy head. The nose definitely had some orange going on. The body was light with an appropriate amount of carbonation - the finish is significantly hoppier than your average lager. This is a good thing of course! The overall flavor has some citrus action. Overall a fantastic beer that might become my standard local everyday beer in the windy city. Good luck to these guys!
