Commercial Description:
Half Acre Lager, the first release by Half Acre Beer Company is brewed using only water, hops, barley and yeast, making sure to respect the integrity of the brewing process and the purity of its ingredients. We chose to balance a rich malt base with a livlier hop content, encouraging a natural, vibrant taste and smell while maintaining the beer’s full body and cloudy, amber appearance. Half Acre Lager is suitable to pair with a range of cuisines and experiences during the season of your choice.

Pours dark gold(ish) with decent size head. Aroma of slight citrus of with a lot of malt backing. Clean and easy to drink, but nothing amazing for me.

aroma is of flowery hops and light, sweet grain. appearance is translucent yellow sunshine. flavor is excellent balance: floral hops take on a perfume note then something a bit more american, hints of citrus followed by a wave of clean malt with a sweetness that does not linger.

This was decent, but had some sort of flaw... I couldn’t pick up on it for sure, but it was drinkable...

12 oz bottle from Poag Mahone’s (Chicago, IL). Pours a darker golden hue, faint orange, good carbonation with fairly big white head that laces decent. Aromas are lighter, floral hops and sweet grainy malts that mellow out. Initial shows light bitterness up front, lemon and florals come, moving to grain, mellow sweetness, a touch citrus. Not a dominant beer, but a decent session lager, leaving a fairly potent bitterness for the style on the palate. Not bad at all

6 pack. Very nice. Straight forward lager. Slight hoppy, citrus nose. Some malt, biscuit flavors. Clean, easy drinking. I’ve picked this up several times and will do so again.

Draft at Small Bar. Pours a very nice ambery gold, Vienna like. Nose is a bit floral and clean, somewhat crisp with the malt jumping through to back up the hop notes. On taste, super easy to drink and really rivals the Metropolitan lagers in terms of deliciousness. Super clean and pleasant bitterness backed up by some burly malts. To me, this is pretty close to a Vienna, but hoppier. Very tasty.

clear copper, nice white head, good lacing. mild sweet malt aroma. flavor contains spices, bitter hoppiness, and floral hints. too frizzy mouth-feel, dry finish. not a bad beer, but not as bitter as i prefer. bottle @ ’twisted spoke bar’ in chicago.
