Light straw-gold; head is about 1/2 finger and spongy. Smell is a bit of fresh hops and crisp grain. Taste is grain with cracker and light hop flavor. Hint of yeast in the mouth and nose as it warms. Light but savory body; finish is dry hop crispness. Great pilsner.

On tap at lake street kitchen, pours a slightly hazy golden/yellow with a small white head. Sweet hoppy aroma with some grassy hops, malt, and yeast. Sweet malt taste, drying bready yeast with dry crisp grassy hop and lightly soapy. Great balance, tasty, and drinkable!

Golden pour with decent off white head. Has a grain, straw, and grassy aroma. Flavors of yeast, grain, lemon, and earthy notes. Light/ medium body that was slick on the palate. Not bad, but average.

16oz can. Pours hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma is of yeast, grain, and grass. Taste is very grassy, with malt and grain. Lingering sweet, grassy taste. Mouthfeel is light, and heavily carbonated. Body is light, and it drinks very easy. It’s nothing spectacular, but it tastes good and it drinks easy. If you were at a dive, and this was an option, I’d pick it.

16oz can. Well it’s a Pilsner. Tastes and smells like old style. Sawdust, Pilsner malt, Pilsner yeast. I don’t think there is anyway to make this good.

Pailhead (5660) - Plymouth, Michigan, USA - NOV 14, 2014
On tap: The aroma consists of sweet honey, grains, and grassy notes. It’s a transparent dull yellow with a small white head that quickly fades to a minimal film outlined by a soapy ring. The flavor starts a quick dose of sweet pilsner malt and honey. The finish has light-moderate grass with some light grain. It’s light-medium bodied with light-moderate carbonation. Overall, a really tasty and refreshing Pilsner.

Can. Gold pour, big white head. Good retention/some lace. Aroma of grassy hop, hay, bread, lager yeast. Taste is lightly bitter, grassy, sweet. Palate is soft, slick, light bitter finish. Not quite as snappy as some pils, but still good.

Draft at Kaiser Tiger. Pours a bright, somewhat hazy yellow-gold with a lot of bubbles and a white head. Nice pils and bready and crackery malts, straw, grass, earth, a bit of lemon, and faint spice. Light-bodied, with medium carbonation and a crisp, dry, malty mouthfeel. Nice, refreshing pils.
