3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
So as a fresh bwine I liked it alot cause it had the nice half acre hop forward punch! It was like a nice not overly sweet double ipa...so actually drinkable and enjoyable...good hop aroma off the bat followed up with nice hop taste thru out.. That would mellow out with age but ad is ( a 3-6 month old b wine) it was really enjoyable!

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at Avery Strong Ale Fest poured a clear orange amber with a small lasting amber head. Aromas of caramel, fruitiness and earthiness. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of caramel, fruitiness and light earthiness with a smooth lingering fruity caramel finish.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Deep red, cloudy pour. Thin head. Medium bodied mouth. Taste has a little toffee, grain & some butterfinger candybar. Aroma is pretty boozy. As this warms up there is an umami here, almost salty. Alcohol is well hidden despite the aroma.

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: FEB 25, 2014 22oz bomber poured into a brandy snifter (aged 3 months). The initial pour gives away a note of acetone, but that fades quick. After that, some notes akin to an apple cinnamon strudel come through, followed, in turns, by a very sugary, candy caramel, honey, some light leather notes, grass, and citrus. The sweet caramel candy aroma becomes dominant once it settles. It’s a sparkling brown-amber (more on the brown side) topped by a soft off-white head that dissipates quickly to a wispy cirrus-cloud like layer and it leaves a light, splotchy lacing that retreated back into the beer (probably more due to the glass shape than anything else). It balances well between a medium sweetness and a medium / medium-light bitterness (the bitterness fades more and more as the end of the bottle approaches). The medium bodied beer is oily in texture, and goes down smooth with the help of a lively carbonation. A toffee flavor starts off the drink, but it gives way to a rye finish with a nice bourbon warmth to it. The rye sticks around in the aftertaste appears at first, but this evolves to show hints of citrus, vanilla, and buttery caramel with a mild resinous coating over time. I’ve never sampled this one fresh, but even after three months, it’s already pretty mellowed out and the bitterness really only shows itself in the first few sips and late in the aftertaste

Bomber from a December 2012 bottle. Red/copper/orange with a tan head. Caramel and malty. Smells like a big IPA. Kinda tastes like an imperial IPA past it's prime with an orange finish

Sweet yet spicy rye makes up the base of this fine beer. A mild aroma, but a big intense, clean flavor highlight the wonderful alcohol content and ensuing buzz of this one.

From the brewery shop. This is irritate the hop heads but I think the hops were a too much for this kind of beer. Not that the piney fresh hop flavor was bad but barley wines to me always seemed like they should emphasize the malt much more. It was malty but it got lost a little with the hops. Other than that I good beer. Serving: Bottle

Gold and Bronze
Nose is great…resinous, almost cheesy. Very sweet…loads of caramel and toffee. Almost like an ice cream sandwich without the chocolate. The pine cone rocks and it’s insanely clean, almost mineral like

Strong with high alcohol content. Nice carmel color. Malty flavor, but somewhat plain and unimpressive.

22 oz. bottle aged a year. Dark amber color light head retention. Really nice sweet nose, raisin, sugar plums, candy sugar. Flavor reflects the aroma. The hop variety you can tell was here and now has been over taken by the sugary malts. Citrus flavor toward the finish with carbonation giving a slightly creamy and smooth finish. The complex malts may only get better with time. I enjoyed this an awful lot.
