COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Space, an India Pale Ale that we brewed a version of before, but under the name Daly Double. This beer is a tribute to a friend that passed away last year. Space was his nickname as a young man and this beer will be a regular offering at our brewery only; our way of keeping him a regular.

It’s with great honor and sadness that we announce an upcoming special release beer. We’re brewing The Daly Double, an India Pale Ale brewed in memoriam of a friend of Half Acre Beer Co.Terry Daly passed away suddenly after spending a lot of time at our brewery over the last few years. Terry was a fan of music, geometry, his two Huskies, Moon & Luna, and amply hopped craft beer. We’re pretty sure that Terry was the foremost consumer of Daisy Cutter Pale Ale. Terry began popping in to buy sixtels of Daisy and before long he stopped by almost everyday just to chew the fat. After a while, he had the authority to walk back into the brewery and go into the cold room to reserve himself kegs and manage his own kegerator inventory for his home Daisy Cutter supply. Being a bright dude, we put him to work wiring things or lending a hand doing whatever needed to be done. He’d turn others on to our beer and took pride in his connection to our brewery. All good breweries acquire people. These people become the larger body that is the meat of your brewing company. Not the tanks or the beers, but the heart of what we do. It has a pulse of its own and its one of the best things about brewing beer for a living. The Daly Double is for Terry and all the other folks that give breweries life . To Terry, Huzzah!

Murky bronze, big gooey white head. Smell is an intense hop bomb - grapefruit and pine - very nice. flavor is very hop forward, as well, sticky pine, lots of citrus pop. The only problem is that the malt doesn’t really seem to support the hops. I’ve said in the past that balance is over rated, but this could use just a little bit more, I don’t know, muscle, I guess. But really, this is a minor quibble. Really tasty. Thanks to nbiondi for the trade!

Wow. Picked this up at Half Acre tasting room without much expectation. Poured dark orange with thin white loose head. Smells amazing - hoppy and citrus. Taste is hoppy with smooth finish and grapefruit/spices. Loved this. Going back for more since it isn’t a regular

Delicious! Creamy head. Bright, amber color. Beautiful hop bouquet on the nose. Nicely balanced with a bright floral hop overtone and nice malt balance.

Binny’s LP 22oz ($7): Pours a hazy amberish color with an off-white head. Aroma is a whole lot of piny hops. Taste is pretty bitter, especially at the front, but in honesty it does throughout. Malt backbone is there with slightly toasted malts, but it is definitely a background. Aftertaste is pretty intense. A brief burst of sugar. A good IPA, but not exactly my style of hoppage.

(22oz bottle courtesy of jcnd9803!). Pours a hazy copper color with chunky 2 finger tan head. Active carbonation. Aroma has some dank, resinous hops along with some tropical fruit notes (mango, papaya). Taste is semi-sweet malts with plenty of bitterness. The resin and tropical fruits are both there, but there is also a bit of a spicy bite too. Medium bodied with a thick texture. Not bad.

Bottle. Pours a clear amber with a grayish head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma is full of dank pine with a note of onion and backing sweet grains. Flavor is full of onion and dank pine with some backing earthy grain.

Bomber from Pawola22 - thanks, Brian! Quite a dark pour, with only a modest carbonation yielding a thin film around the glass. Pleasant aroma, sweetly floral in the way of some Alpine or Flossmoor IPAs. Smooth and lightly prickly mouthfeel, full and rich and satisfying, with just a slight touch of bitterness on the palate during the finish. Taste is really yummy, and while immediately satisfying it’s also quite complex. There’s on the one hand a really fine dry leafy quality to the hops, but this is combined with a kind of honey Hopslam thing and a burst of tropical fruits. Really satisfying IPA.

22 oz. bottle shared by jckp64- thanks, John! Pours a cloudy orange-amber color with a small off-white head. Aroma of big, dank, leafy hops, tropical and citrus fruits, toast, dusty grains, and caramel malts. Flavor of caramel malts, dry grains, leafy hops, citrus, melon, and pineapple. Light-medium bodied, with moderate carbonation a leafy mouthfeel that finishes dry. Nice IPA.

Pours dark golden with a fine foamy white head. Aroma is bright, fresh pine and citrus, very well balanced. Flavor is quintessential Half Acre with a touch more character malt, which helps balance the sting of the hops, fresh and extremely well done. Delicious!
