COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Space, an India Pale Ale that we brewed a version of before, but under the name Daly Double. This beer is a tribute to a friend that passed away last year. Space was his nickname as a young man and this beer will be a regular offering at our brewery only; our way of keeping him a regular.

It’s with great honor and sadness that we announce an upcoming special release beer. We’re brewing The Daly Double, an India Pale Ale brewed in memoriam of a friend of Half Acre Beer Co.Terry Daly passed away suddenly after spending a lot of time at our brewery over the last few years. Terry was a fan of music, geometry, his two Huskies, Moon & Luna, and amply hopped craft beer. We’re pretty sure that Terry was the foremost consumer of Daisy Cutter Pale Ale. Terry began popping in to buy sixtels of Daisy and before long he stopped by almost everyday just to chew the fat. After a while, he had the authority to walk back into the brewery and go into the cold room to reserve himself kegs and manage his own kegerator inventory for his home Daisy Cutter supply. Being a bright dude, we put him to work wiring things or lending a hand doing whatever needed to be done. He’d turn others on to our beer and took pride in his connection to our brewery. All good breweries acquire people. These people become the larger body that is the meat of your brewing company. Not the tanks or the beers, but the heart of what we do. It has a pulse of its own and its one of the best things about brewing beer for a living. The Daly Double is for Terry and all the other folks that give breweries life . To Terry, Huzzah!

UPDATED: JUL 7, 2014 This is a tasty and refreshing ipa. Not too bitter and goes down easy. One of my favorites out of this brewer ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

[Tap] Bright orange colored pour with a dense cap of head on top. Heavy bitter aroma highlights tropical fruit, mango and pineapple. Taste is more mellow than the aroma, but it still packs a decent hop punch. Resinous hop taste, citrus, sweet caramel and pine cone round out the flavor. Sticky mouthfeel. A nice IPA!

Solid orange pour with little head. Very hoppy citrus and very salty aroma, slightly bitter in the nose. Straight forward hoppiness - strong pine and citrus, grapefruit lots of nutty half acre flavor. Alright but nothing unique to write home about.

Draft at Taste the Rarity A standout of the midwest tent for me.....hoping this is it as the placard said "Spaceman"....from the descriptions this seems like it. Pours orange with a nice white head. Aroma of tropical fruit hops. Flavor is resinous hoppy, great mouthfeel from low carbonation, very good IPA.

Tap @ Half Acre: Deep, rich, burnt copper with 99% opacity. Almost brown. Dark for an IPA, methinks. Soapy, gray-tinted collar & foam. Aroma with a huge pungency of grapefruity & citric hops, juicy as hell with some grassy tones in the back adding a touch of bitterness. Lots of sweet, toasted, & lightly caramelized malt, too. Taste is full of grass & "wet" hops with an apparent dankness all around. Bitter fruit. Grapefruit pith, orange rind, outlined with pine needles, all soaking in a bath of moderately sweet caramel drizzle. Candied citrus finish, backed up with some fading, peppery pines. I normally do not care for sweeter or more caramel malt-heavy IPAs but this one was done exceptionally well. The malt was effective but not overpowering, & at the end of the day, it still tasted like an IPA. Yum!

Tap. Pours hazy amber with an average, lacing off-white head. Aroma of citrus fruits, pine and caramel. Sweet flavor that ends up more dry and nice bitter. Medium bodied, oily textuere and soft carb. A very nice IPA.

Draft at half acre taproom. Pours a clear light amber copper color with a thin off-white to light tan head. Aroma is fleshy fruit hops, a bit astringent. Flavor is moderately bitter with a decent fruity sweetness. Light to medium in body with a lingering mild bitter sweet. Not too bad.
