3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Growler from the brewery. Imperial reds are a rarity and the Chairman does a good job representing the style. One thing i liked: it’s an imperial that doesn’t blow out your tastebuds with hops, and it has a smooth, full bodied maltiness with all the flavors mentioned in the other reviews. It has a strong abv content but you won’t notice it in the taste. Have it during a cold weather porch session.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
64 oz growler from the Half Acre Tap Room. Deep, dark reddish pour that shines like a jewel in the light. An off white head sits on top that fades into a thin, sticky film that clings to the glass. Aroma of red fruits, cherries, citrus hops. A few notes of pine, red cake, cherries and mango. Flavor is mildly hoppy, red fruits, plums, cake malts. Some caramel. The hops are bright, grassy and piney, yet understated. Mild sweetness. No detectable alcohol. Pretty solid. I would have assume they would have hopped the hell out of this since it’s an "imperial red" but I respect their artistic decision not to.
