Tap @ Half Acre: A 12% ABV "brown ale"... lol what? Deep, deep, opaque brown pour with the slightest ruby tint towards the edges; creamy, lasting ecru foam on top. Aroma is robust as hell. Toasted caramalts, woodsy caramel, honey roasted peanuts, cocoa dust, a hint of burnt bread, yeast, slight earthiness, & a mild kiss of dark fruits in the finish. Huge flavor, wow. Definitely much more amped than a brown ale. Thick, boozy, heavy. Toasted walnuts, earthy hops, mild perfume, dirty spiciness, hints of sweet chocolate a la Tootsie Rolls, coated in over-reduced caramel. Hints of raisins & reminders of Heath candy bars in the finish with a semi-pungent lingering of alcohol. Not quite what I expected, but I actually enjoyed this. Almost a little too much booze showing, even for 12% ABV, but still quite tasty.

Bottle shared by Menno, thanks! Laurel, spices, alcohol, caramel and some herbs in the aroma. Quite spicy bitter flavor. A bit alcoholic but still a decent balance.

On tap: The aroma consists of moderate-heavy chocolate, caramel, roasted nuts, and a hint of grain. It’s a dark cloudy orangish-brown with a small khaki head that quickly fades to a minimal film outlined by a thicker ring. The flavor starts with big chocolate and caramel. The finish has raisin, roasted nuts, and light alcohol. It’s medium-full bodied with a slightly sticky mouthfeel. Overall, this makes me think of what Bell’s Double Best Brown would taste like if it existed...but single Best Brown is better.

Strong nutty flavorvwithba one chocolate. Really smooth to drink with that hoppy finish that you know from half acre. Brown in color. Had a bottle pour at home. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft pour at half acre. Brown almost black color. Tan head. Aroma is licorice and nutty. Tastes nutty with brown sugar and maple flavors. Not too bad. Just not a huge brown fan

Bottle shared by TheAlum in the GTWM ticket line, thanks Adam! Pours a murky brown with a thin diminishing head and very little lacing, the aroma has a ton of chocolate and molasses, the flavor is sweet with a lot of chocolate and some bourbon notes coming through in the finish, really slick mouthfeel, this is a big beer.

Bottle shared by TheAlum in the GTMW ticket line...thanks Adam! - Pours murky brown with a filmy tan head. Nose is caramel with chocolate, adn some sweet boozy barrel character. Big sweet brown sugar taste, a little too far on the sweet side for my tastes. Milk chocolate, bourbon, and cocoa notes. Slick and big, with minimal carbonation.

Pours a rich brown with some haze. Two fingers of rich and creamy dark brown head. Nose is rich and malt forward, lots of burnt sugar and caramel with hints of treacle and black molasses. Rich and warming, alcohol kind of sharp and the malt character a little intense. Lots of burnt sugar and dark ass caramel. Full bodied with sharp alcohol.

22oz bottle scored the BA Gang Bang BIF. 22oz bottle pours a translucent, deep mahogany brown with some creamy, beige head. Nose of brown malts, brown sugar, some pitted fruit, whiskey. Flavor is a little harsh, really sweet and boozy, light brown sugar, a little caramel, a little breakfast cereal. Full bodied, boozy finish. I thought this was a good idea that was poorly executed.
