Nose of strongly roasted malts some darker fruit notes, earthy hops, toasted nuts. A seriously robust brown ale nose without too much sweeetness, alcohol is present but adds nicely to the aroma. Pours brown with nice reddish underlying notes. Not much head or lace. Sweet with roast, chocolate, residual sugar, some fruity sweetness, dry roasty finish. Nice hop bitterness - earthy light fruit. Balanced with only light alcohol for 12percent. I like it.

Shared at Nashville Beer Summit 1.0. Pours brown with a tan head. Nutty and alcohol nose. Medium bodied, with a slight oily texture. Flavor of cocoa and nutty malts, countered by some moderate herbal and spicy hops. Dry and warming finish, with some tannins peeking through. Brown ale on mega steroids. A sipper for sure, but lacks a wow factor.

Thanks to NBondi for the bottle. Deep brown pour with a thick tan head. Chocolate, toffee and citrus hop aroma. Taste is toffee, chocolate taste with a nice chewy body. Alcohol bite peaks through. Thick and intense, a nice winter warmer.

22 oz. bottle via trade with Tooch4321 - Pours a hazy brown color with a one finger thick light tan head. Light spotty lacing. Aroma is doughy malt. Flavor is toasted caramel malt and a hint of mint. The 12% alcohol isn’t too over bearing. Malt lingers a bit in the finish. Medium body. A nice beer. Thanks Adam.

UPDATED: DEC 28, 2010 On draft @ twisted spoke. Pours a dark brown red with a beige head. Red fruit citrus and caramel malts in the aroma. Sweet malts caramels, red fruits, with bitter licorice, pine and alcohol. A little sweet in the finish. I’m surprised this is labeled as a porter. As a porter it’s odd as an american strong or even winter warmer... nice.
