4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draft at Half Acre Tap Room. Pours a deep brown with a tan head. Nose is fudgey, chocolate and deep malt. Some burnt sugar and caramel as well. Light florals and yeast aromatics. On tasting, it is moderately sweet with more caramel and chocolate coming through. Robust malt profile to support it overall. Clean and rich. More chocolatey than Thunder & Son for sure. Big huge beer, burly body. Really good big ass brown ale!

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
22 oz. bomber served in a Half Acre tulip.
A: Pours a very dark brown color with a thin khaki head forming on the pour. It recedes to a thin collar leaving behind some sticky lace.
S: Light roastiness with a touch of chocolate. Some grainy malt as well.
T: Milk chocolate, some restrained hop bitterness, a little bit of roast and some mild sweet vanilla. Very good.
M: Medium bodied, creamy and smooth. Medium carbonation with a very smooth and sweet finish.
O: Great flavor profile and highly drinkable. I would drink this all the time. Great beer from two great breweries!

Bomber from Fischmans shared with ck1, thanks beermenus! Pours a dark brown with a tannish head leaving some lacing. Aroma has roast and bakers chocolate with faint nuttiness. Taste is of a nice bittersweet chocolate/coffee blend. Quite roasty underneath. Very solid. Imperial brown?

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap in a tulip at the taproom. Pours a dark brown with a beige head. Earthy pine, caramel malts, toffee, and some roast aromas. The roast and pine is juicy in the flavor. Rich toasty roasted. Pretty solid and complex for a brown ale.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Pours a medium brown with a small light tan head. Aroma is nutty, cocoa and molasses. Flavor starts with a soft cocoa and caramel character before turning to a bit more of a roast note in the finish. Medium body and a soft carbonation. Nice beer

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
22 oz. bottle pours a dark reddish brown with moderate beige head and good lacing. Not much to smell. However, the aroma is big, malty, and nutty. There’s lots of caramel, roasted almonds, toffee, and some roasted grains. Each sip brings out something different. Taste is sweet with slight bitterness and nuttiness in the finish. Body is at least medium without too much carbonation. Mouthfeel is sticky and alcohol is well hidden. A very solid, complex offering and one of the best from this local brewery.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
22oz bottle. aroma is simple fudge, light roast and cleaner graininess amidst metallic twinge. appearance is dead opaque with muddled ruby edges, wispy head, disintegrating floating island of carb, heavier body unlightened by carb, tiny ring. flavor is deeper fudge, advanced by light fusels, fleeting caramel, echo of graininess from back of aroma.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draft at the Half Acre tap room. Dark brown appearance. Coffee and brown sugar-toasted aroma. Caramel, chocolate, almonds, and maybe some raisins in the taste. This one is fun because you’ll pick up more and more flavors as you swish it around on your tastebuds, and people at your table are bound to interpret it differently, given the wide range of elements present. Each of us could agree it generally had a sweetened profile, though, which seems appropriate for a strong brown ale. Medium bodied and easy to drink despite the 8% abv.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
22oz bottle from Binny’s Lincoln Park. Pours a deep brown colored body with an inch thick, creamy and frothy, light brown head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is lightly sweetened, smooth brown malts with touches of cocoa, molasses, and nuts. A bit grainy with a light roast and a light cherry-raisin note. Flavor is similar. Smooth brown malts with some grainy toast and cocoa up front as well as a light hop note. A touch of molasses sweetness, some nuts, and a light roast in the middle before a light cherry-raisin comes in. Finishes smooth and clean with a pretty noticeable, medium-light bitterness and roast that is balanced with a lightly sweetened malt backing. Lengthy aftertaste following a medium body and a moderate carbonation. Overall, a pretty solid, bigger brown ale. Lightly sweetened, somewhat toasted, and pleasantly bitter as well as a light cherry-raisin note. Very well balanced and easy drinking despite the ABV%. Good one.
