Vallejo, an India Pale Ale we brewed with coastal spirit. This 6.7% hop crasher sharply dives into the very deep waters of bitter beers.

Cask at Jerry’s. Pale orange-gold with big, foamy, white head / Grassy, slightly sour nose of citrus and pine / Medium body, cask soft body with low carbonation, some sourness, a touch watery, otherwise good balance and lightly bitter finish / Lightly sour flavors of grass, dandelion, and dry pine, with notes of lemon and grapefruit / Probably not ready for prime time, but an interesting, herbaceous brew.
Earlier Rating: 11/13/2012 Total Score: 4.1
Draft at Jerry’s. Pale orange-gold with big, foamy, white head / Bright, sweet nose of citrus, honey, pine, and soap / Medium body, fat with low carbonation, a hint watery, with otherwise good balance and bitter finish / Flavors of orange peel, grapefruit, soap, fresh cut pine, and candied sugar / Moderate body issues detract from this potentially great beer.

Tap at Jakes in Chicago. Light gold with thick white head and great lacing. Subtle hop citrus aroma. Floral and subtle hop, then some sweet, then very palatable clean slight citrus grain taste. Light feel for this style. Good beer.

On tap at Jake’s in Chicago on Lolla Eve. Pint glass. Great lacing with a minor head. Light and golden. Aroma sings with citrus serving as the melody and hops as the harmony. Taste feels a little bit wheaty with a decent citrus rind bitterness. Quality IPA that fulfills the primary goal of the style serving as a refreshing citrus influenced beer. Good work Half Acre. Vallejo!

Nice aroma of fresh citrus. Notes of lemon....slightly catty in a good way. Nice light yellow color, with a frothy white head. Rich sweet malt up front. Citrus tones, quickly absorbed by hoppy bitterness. Piney bitterness mellows sweetness nicely. Balanced finish. Nice IPA.

16oz can. Pours golden yellow with a frothy off-white head. Aroma is of hops, tropical fruit, caramel, and pine. Taste starts off with a bitter hop burn. After a few sips, there is a juicy hop character with lots of tropical fruit. Has a bready malt backbone, with a fair amount of caramel. Lingering tropical fruit taste. Mouthfeel is very carbonated, and slightly soapy. Body is very carbonated and light. Drinks very easy, and it tastes really good. Damn good beer.

Half Acre is rarely disappointing. This is another solid IPA. Not my favorite, but a solid IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Good citrus flavor. Easy drinking, almost like a session IPA. Alot of carbonation, gives it a foamy mouth feel. Almost like drinking an IPA-flavored soda. Pretty good.

16oz can from Jim’s in Mundelein. Typical Half Acre. Sweet fruit, hops, normal solid "Half Acre" yeast to pitch in on the flavor Very solid. Could have daily or more. Excited they are canning this - may lead to even others. 15.1
