rmussman (691), California, USA Sep 1, 2007 Sampled at the brew house. A very drinkable beer but not much excitement about it. The flavor just was weak and not in tone with other brews they serve. CaptKirk (175), Hephzibah, Georgia, USA May 8, 2007 Very smooth and a little bit nutty. Not as dark as I would think a brown ale should be, but a nice drinkable beer. Had on tap at the brewery. No head to speak of so I could not comment on the lacing Ale_Drinker (1072), Sunnyvale, California, USA Jun 12, 2006 Another light and mild beer by the half moon bay brewing company. Seems like they play it safe with most of their beers and try to make them easy to drink for the general public. No complaints, but nothing spectacular. bb (2088), Martinez, California, USA May 10, 2005 Draft. Bootlegger’s Brown. Ruby-brown color with a nice beige head. Malty aroma. Chocolate malt flavor with some sort of toasted cheerios. Biscuit flavors linger. Just a touch of bitterness. jazz88 (2205), San Francisco, California, USA Jul 17, 2003 Tap @ Brewery. They called this the Bootlegger's Brown. A good looking brownish red color with a tan head. Nut and malt aroma. Strong malt flavor with a light body, dry, and some chocolate.
