Amber body with an off white head. The server stated that the brewer used different hops. Hops from Washington State. Piney aroma with a sharp but pleasant bite. Did not linger and begs to be tried again. I am not much on this style of beer, but enjoyed the pint I had.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 bb (5888) - Alamo, California, USA - APR 18, 2007
Draft. Amber beer with a low off-white head. Tropical fruit/grapefruit aroma. Grapefruit and pine flavor with some tropical backing. Medium body. Lingering fruity hops - decent bitterness. My guess is a recipe change with one of the new hops added.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Oristo (67) - Orinda, California, USA - JAN 19, 2003
Good brown color. Nice clear. Good malty flavor withsnite hop balance. Finish is a little wet but the aftertaste is good. Definitely English in style.

Cask at the brewpub. Cloudy amber pour with no activity. Aroma is like old cigars and old english caramel malt. I never would have guessed this is an APA. Flavor is like the aroma, nice palate.

A very nice pale ale with a good use of hops with give it a smooth flavor while looking over the bay. Has a golden hue and a well crafted hops flavor.

Clear yellow with a creamy white head. Musty grain aroma and a malty slightly brassy vanilla taste and a hint of citrus to the finish.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 nickd717 (3394) - San Francisco, California, USA - JUL 19, 2010
On tap at the brewpub.
Pours a clear golden-copper color with a lasting one-finger white head.
Aroma is sweet malt and citrus hops, along with a slight marijuana note. Fairly typical except for the wacky weed.
Flavor also has sweet pale and caramel malt, orangish and piney hops, and the weed that is wacky. Nothing too out of the ordinary.
Medium-bodied with average carbonation and mouthfeel.
A decent pale ale overall, drinkable if nothing else. I’m giving a lot of these HMB beers similar ratings, because the quality is very, very consistent here: slightly above average.

On tap. Clear golden with an off-white head. Lightly piney hop aroma. Medium body, sweetish fruit and malt with some lightly perfumy hops in the finish that don’t leave much bitterness. 090709
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 TEJA (1156) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - JUN 20, 2012
Draught at the Half Moon Bay brewpub.
Beige head. Clowdy amber color. Typical English piny hop aroma with just a tuch of caramell. Small but fine bitterness in the taste followed by a piny hop taste and a dry finnish.
