Draught at the pub. Hazy murky, almost opaque dark brown with a thin filmy light tan head. Quite roasty, somewhat sweet chocolatey. Lacks the hoppy punch I’d expect in a black IPA. Still drinkable.

Draft at HMB. Poured black color with an average frothy brown head that lasted and produced good lacing. Moderate to heavy toasted chocolate malt and complex hop aroma. Medium to full body with a slick texture and flat carbonation. Moderate to heavy toasted bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. This beer exceeded my expectations.
