Tmoney99 (3429), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA May 10, 2008 Draft sample at brewpub. Poured a black color with a moderate frothy brown head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Medium roasted coffee aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture. Medium roasted bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. More my style. BBB63 (3681), La Porte, Indiana, USA Dec 17, 2007 Tap: Deep brown with reddish highlights, creamy but fading head and spotty lace. The aroma has notes of prune, chocolate, walnut, toasted malt, herbal hops, and a hint of DMS. The taste is a smooth sweet malt character with some nut and fruit under it all. The finish is a tad short but I found this an enjoyable beer. The mouth feel could use a tad more body to match the flavor profile. Quaffable. thedm (3405), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA Aug 4, 2007 This draft brew from the brew pub poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized tan colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a semi-opaque no visible carbonation dark red brown colored body. The mild aroma was malty. . The thin flavor contained notes of brown malt. Not one that I would likely buy again. Missing most good porter qualities. hotstuff (3019), Indiana, USA Jul 7, 2007 Draft at the brewery and rated on 5/5/07. Poured a small tan head that was mostly lasting, sparse amount of lacing, opaque, black hue, and no visible carbonation. Nose was semi-roasty, malty and that was all I could get from the nose. Dito for nose. Smooth mouthfeel and light-medium body. Pretty one dimensional and not too impressive for this style.
