3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at the brewpub
At last I made my way through the seemingly endless flight of wheat beers and moved on to the rest. This is a solid amber ale that is more interesting than most of the other lighter taps. One or two of these over dinner would be a good start before ticking the heavier drafts.
Aroma / Appearance - The caramel colored body is mostly opaque except for a few stray bands of light. Candy corn, caramel, and molasses are a fall festival in a sample sized glass. For a 6% ABV beer the malt feels heavy.
Flavor / Palate - Creamy from the first sip the texture of the mouthfeel binds together the parts. Caramel, chocolate, and a dash of red licorice are a blend of Twix, Nutella, and Twizzlers in liquid form. The sweet malty finish brightens the palate. Overall this is well rounded and worth a tick.

2.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Tap at brewery. Light caramel malt aroma... almost nothing. Coppery amber with a small off-white head, moderate lacing. Light toast, caramel, and light herbal bitter flavor. Medium body, soft carbonation.

2.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Nothing too special and out of the ordinary here. Aroma is crystal and light chocolate. Appearance is red, light carbonation. Taste is mostly crystal grain, chocolate malt, light hops. A standard, average red alte. Easy drinker though...

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
brewpub sampler - Pours clear amber with a small head. The aroma and flavor are both mainly of caramel malt. There’s just a little hops in there. It’s pretty sweet and has a thin body. It’s not bad, but there’s not much going for it either.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Draft sample at brewpub. Poured a clear brown color with a moderate fizzy white head that diminished slowly with good lacing. Medium toasted sweet malty aroma. Medium body with a sticky texture. Medium bittersweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Another drinkable beer that met my expectations.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Tap: Coppery reddish hue with a fading fizzy head and some lace. The aroma has notes of caramel, grassy hops, butterscotch, pear esters, and walnut. The taste is simple malty sweetness with a hint of fruit behind that. The finish displays a bready and buttery character. The mouth feel is soft and sprite. Paint by numbers amber ale.

1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20
This draft brew from the brew pub poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized white colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a transparent softly carbonated light orange brown colored body and a fair lacing. The almost non-existant aroma was malty. The mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and at the finish. The mild flavor contained notes of hops and Irish red malt. Not one that I would buy again.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draft at the brewery and rated on 5/5/07. Small off-white head that quickly dissipated, sparse amount of lacing, transparent, no visible carbonation, and an orange hue. Malty, caramel, semi-sweet nose. Ditto for the flavor. Tingly mouthfeel. Light body. Missed the mark on this one given the style. Needs more chracter, aroma and flavor.
