Commercial Description:
British crystal malts give this beer its distinctly deep amber body and a nutty aroma that persists throughout the glass. The soft underlying hop bitterness is tempered with the flowery aroma of the U.K. Golding hop. Like its namesake, Bulldog Amber Ale is tough on the exterior but with a soft disposition. This malty morsel makes the perfect pairing to hot wings or hand tossed pizza. Serve in a glass at 4 degrees celcius. Unpasturized.

341 ml bottle at Volo. Pours a fairly clear amber with small white cap. Fruit very prominent in the nose with spice and caramel. Very fruity, malty taste, with some spiciness and a lingering bitterness in the finish. Pleasant.

Bottle at Volo in late July. Fruity mango yet nutty aroma - interesting and very good.Dark amber pour. Taste is also pretty fruity with a nice balance of malt and a little bit of bitterness in the finish. A very pleasant amber.

Thanks to Tupalev. Appearance: cloudy red with large White head. Aroma: spicy alcohol with oak and leather. Flavour: spicy, orange, oak with yeast and vanilla and lots of carbonation. Not bad.

Poured out a good ammount of very light tan fizz that lives only as a skim and leaves nice looking spotty lacing on top of the standard hazy dark amber coloured brew. The aroma is nice but does come across on the weak side nearing the bottom half of my glass. The aroma is mainly of soft slightly sweet fruit and floral notes, some bready malts and background nuttiness. The taste comes across with the hops being grapefruity and lemon but the hop spice and piney flavour is more prominent especially after its been in the glass for awhile. The malts are a bit weak but decent enough. There is also a slight sour note. The mouthfeel is ok with good carbonation, sort of smooth, soft malt middle, medium bodied and has a nice malt finish with some bitterness.

"Oh dear gawd I don’t know what went wrong how old is this bottle? Can’t find any date on it, did I not rinse my glass of a pound of soap why does this smell so bad. Appearance is acceptable light copper with a very thick very long lasting crown but wholly crist the smell is repulsive. Extrem sour with lots of soap, a touch of chocolate maybe, dam this is almost making me want to puke! Mouth feel is ok but a touch thin. At least it tatse better then it smells but still this nothing I realy want to drink. Woody sour malts, a touch of caramel, a litle watery and the soap continues in the flavor. Why is this so bad and why does no one elles review sound like mine? I don’t think this was a true representation of the beer but I can’t explain what went wrong. "

Volo. Light amber, with a thin white covering head, and some lace follows. Aroma is not rich, there is some hops and it is neutral at best. Medium mouthfeel, smooth drinking. Medium bitterness yet only 20 IBU. Later sips produce more maltiness. A mild brown plus, a prototype Canadian beer. Well crafted owing to its good balance, absence of distracting carbonation.

12 ounce botte- pours a cloudy, murky dark orange/brown with some soapy lacing. Nose- sweet crystal malts, some grain. Initial sip is dough, caramel, a little creamy. The finish is grainy with earlthy hop bitterness, and again the crystal malts. Moderate carbonation.
