3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Ferfie (170) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - JAN 30, 2012
Originally rated 10/12/11. Fresh shipment of 2011 version. Pours deep orange almost copper color. Not entirely clear, has some haze, but nothing gross floating inside. Nice really tight head forms and fizzles within minutes. The smell has some rich bready sweet malts in there, but a really bright and sweet hop note comes in too. It’s those almost tropical fruit hops, like mangoes, but also has some of the bigger malt character. There’s also a pretty strong pine note in there, resinous and spicy at the same time.In the Taste, fruits, tangerines and mangoes, but it mixes with some really thick malt that is powerful but not too sweet. Then the spicy character, almost an earthy hop comes in and brings with it that strong Pine hop. For an 8% beer, the alcohol is surprisingly noticeable; it’s not boozy or anything, slight sharpness, not burn. The finish is pretty bitter, der its 100IBU, but the malt saves it from being a palate thrasher. The mouthfeel is actually rather full with perfect carbonation. Great stuff.

341ml bottle pours a cloudy pale amber color with a small white head which settles with some spotted lacing. Aroma is caramel and some citrusy and earthy hops. Taste is citrusy and nutty bitterness with a light malty sweetness underneath. Medium to heavy body and light carbontion. This beer has plenty of character with a big hop profile and enough malts to balance things out. Very well done.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 greglikesbeer (22) - Ancaster, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 19, 2011
Pours hazy with a deep amber colour and a creamy head which slowly dissipates. Scent has the strong floral and citrus notes that you would expect from a fine IPA. Taste is incredibly hoppy, but well-balanced with toasted malts. Bitter, sweet with a thick texture. Long satisfying finish. Big props to a Winnipeg brewery for creating such a great beer.

12oz. Bottle: GUSHER! Aroma of hops, pine, citrus, malt, light caramel, slight diacetyl, grapefruit, and light citrus. Poured amber in color with a small, creamy, dense, off-white/tan head that diminished but lasted throughout. Cloudy. Sparkling. Full of tiny particles throughout. Very good lacing. Flavor is lightly sweet and heavily bitter. Tastes of malt, caramel, hops, pine, slight citrus, resin, and a hint of diacetyl. Medium body. Oily, then lightly dry texture. Average carbonation. Caramel, malt, hop, resin, citrus finish is lightly dry. 8%ABV is completely hidden throughout.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 neuromatt (610) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 31, 2011
11.5 oz bottle at a tasting at Chris’ place, served in a tasting glass. Pours hazy amber with a small, off-white head. The head fades to a thin remnant and leaves a small amount of lace. On the nose, there are notes of lemon, biscuit and caramel, with a touch of pine. The flavour is balanced between toasty malts and a sharp, piney bitterness. It evolves to a long, resinous bitter finish. On the palate, it is medium in body with a smooth, creamy texture and soft carbonation. Overall, this is a balanced IPA with nice toasty malts and a nice hop aroma. 2011-05-22
