341 ml bottle from a trade with boney from bar towel. pours deep reddish brown with a small tan head that lingers and laces. not much aroma. mostly crystal malt with a touch of C hop. the flavour is quite balanced between the cara malt structure and C hop citrus. the finish isnt bitter at all and is actually quite balanced. i nice beer but not a hop heads IIPA. id drink a sixer a week if it was availble locally.

330ml bottle from Volo. Wow, my favourite half pints so far!! Pours dark amber with resinous hop and caramel nose. Taste is big, lots of citrus and resinous hops. Earthy and dark berry notes. Well balanced beer, nice to have a tasty double IPA from our neighbours in Manitoba!
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Powertrip (999) - Calgary, Alberta, CANADA - MAR 17, 2010
Aromas of vanilla bean, rich chocolate mousse and sweetgrass. A treat to the nose! Taste.....A sweet malt blanket wraps itself around well-rooted and bursting hops. This one could easily be mistaken for overly-sweet but its the sweetness that make it a gem. It works so well in tandem with the hops that it would be half the beer it is without it. There are also lingering hints of dust and salt. The finish is touched with slight smoke resistent hops.

Bottle… RBWG ‘10… Cloudy golden ale with a bubbly, white head. The nose is malty, but also presents plenty of musty, earthy hops. Medium-bodied with tingly carbonation. Nice malt and hop flavor. Good, savory bitterness – not overwhelming. Mildly bitter, astringent finish.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 TomDecapolis (4221) - Lawrence, Kansas, USA - MAR 9, 2010
Thanks to Josh for sharing. Pours a hazy deeper amber with a medium off white head. Aroma of pine and grapefruit hop notes quickly complimented with sweet malts and caramel. Flavor is a great example of aggressive hops meet malts, tea pine, hop bitterness is there but not over the top which helps smooth it out.

Aroma is an inviting orange/pine and some good malt, deep amber, pours a tiny custard head. Taste is rich malt, lots of orange/pine notes from those hops. Medium bodied, very well balanced, beautifully bitter. Terrific! Thanks for sharing midlife crisis.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 fredandboboflo (1570) - East Setauket, New York, USA - FEB 1, 2010
Bottle. Aroma of caramel, resin, increasing hints of limey and grapefruit hop notes. Flavor again starts off with sweeter malty notes and lets the juicy hop character creep up and ultimately flourish. Seemed like an old bottle to me at first, which it may have been, but it also may have just been the beer, which was quite good either way.
