3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sampled at the GCBF. Amber, spiderwebs. Aroma of mango, tangerine, apricot. Taste is bitter, yes, but the crystal comes out mightily. A well crafted DIPA... I’d heard this was overhopped but it’s not too bitter at all, it’s "well balanced" (which is almost absurd to say for this most extreme of styles) with the malt base.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Deep amber-orange with lace. big malty nose, hoppy, old school: caramel, oranges, grass. Sweet flavor, a bit big on the caramel and toffee, with oranges and good hops. Decent but a bit too sweet for me.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle to tulip
I can’t believe I’ve never rated this before. Caramel, citrus, huge resin. Clear reddish amber and a thin white head. This is sweet caramel, a light citrus, and resin.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
this is a great beer, limited release which is too bad, very complex and terrific mouth feel, layers of flavour, wonderful aroma, impossible to not sit up and pay attention at the first sip, alcohol is a touch too high, don’t miss a chance to try this

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle - Earthy pine hops with a strong malty backbone. Clear copper with a foamy beige head. Resinous earthy hops, orange and lots of caramel malts. Nice bit of bitterness and a bit of alcohol heat. I used to really like this and either it’s not a great batch or maybe my tastes have. Still pretty decent.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle shared with northropfrye. Aroma of evergreen needles. Beautiful rich red colour with a snowy lacy head that lasts surprisingly long. Tastes like forest honey, which is something I guess I just made up. I like it better than the last time I tried it, which was when I didn’t really like IPAs.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Pours a nice dark copper colour with a bit of dry hop pellets left settling to the bottom. Nice big white head settling down to a sticky lace. Smells of pine and some alcohol tingle finishing with some nutty maltiness which becomes more prominent as the beer warms up. Taste is initially bitterness and booze that complement each other with a perfect carbonation letting the malt profile to show through at the end with notes of nuttiness.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours a clear orangish amber color with a big off white head that lasts the duration of the beer and leaves lots of lace. Smell’s of bready citrusy and nutty notes. Taste is sweet on the tongue right away and then the hops kick in and you’re left with a big bitterness and some nuts to balance it out. Faint hint of booze on the finish as well. Great imperial ipa!

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Dark copper-brown with thick creamy beige head and nice lacing. Very light citrus in the aroma, hops lean more toward eath and pine. Malt is definitly present, some nuts and caramel. Flavors are once again malty: maple and nuts.. It remains very bitter and dry with a decent pine presence. This is a big IPA, heavy and sticky palate. I would classified this one as an American strong ale, it reminds me of a dryer version of American Bastard. Good for what it is, not necessarily my style.
