Bottle @ GT’s Cat Cabana. Thanks, GT. Black pour with a khaki head. Fumy alcohol aroma up front. Roasted malt, bourbon, brandy, and grape. Some vanilla, brown sugar, and chocolate syrup. A bit of graham cracker, as well. The flavor is pleasantly sweet. Lots of bourbon, vanilla, and graham cracker. Some roasted malt, a bit of bitter dark chocolate, sweet chocolate syrup, and burnt sugar. Good stuff.

Enjoyed this, but perhaps not quite as much as others. All the hallmark IRS flavours without really coming out and giving it’s own take on the style. Still a wonderfully crafted, almost faultless beer. But sometimes the small faults are the defining characteristics in the masterpiece.

Huge thanks to Kbudd19! Pour is deep black with a brown head. Aroma hits you during the pour Roasted malt, dark fruit, bourbon, oak. The aroma just invites you to take that first sip. Taste is creamy, oak, fruit, bourbon, roasted malt, char, black patent malt bitterness, hops at the end. Lacing registers on each sip. Very tasty! Leaves a wonderful mouth feel and aftertaste. Yeah Canada!

65 cl bottle, Calgary, AB, Canada, via Winnipeg. Jet black, rum and raisin aroma. Cherry sweet flavour, then a dark chocolate bitterness. More oak-sweet on the finish. Very nice.

Bottle shared by ferris during RBWG ’14. Poured an oily dense pitch black body with very little head. Aroma is nice, bourbon, vanilla, green veggies, lots of roastiness, dark wet toast. Bigger body than I was expecting, full with average carbonation. Flavor is good but not as nice as the aroma. Notes of dark toast, bourbon, vanilla extract and lots of roastiness. Good stuff.
