COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
To admit that the brewer at Half Pints is a bit of a hophead is an understatement. This India Pale Ale is unabashedly hoppy, not only from the Amarillo hops we add to the brew kettle, but also from the northwest U.S. variety called Cascade that we add directly to the final tank. A firm toasted malt presence forms the background for all of these hops, and we're confident our Little Scrapper IPA could take other so-called IPA's to the mat if called upon to do so. Try it with a curry or a basket of beer battered fish & chips. Serve in a glass at 8 degrees celcius. Unpasturized.

Sampled at the GCBF. Medium brown-amber. Tobacco on the nose. Caramel, grapefruit, and pine on the mouth. My apologies for such an "average" IPA review... this has average tastes, but itís just done really, really well.

Pint at St. Augustine's. Lightly hazed, straw gold. White cap leaving some early lacing. Smells beery. Leafy. But not do much green leafy. We're talkin early morning, dew kissed autumn leaves, gently caressed by the first rays of a morning sunrise. Plus a hint of toffee. Taste is a typical, good ipa of citrus rind and toffee.

Scopey (6317) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 5, 2012
UPDATED: SEP 9, 2012 Bottle at National beer hall, Calgary. It pours golden yellow, with a medium white head. The nose is juicy citrus, tangerine, orange, light marmalade and light pine. The taste is juicy citrus, peach, apricot, tangerine, light mango, light acidity and pine, with a dry, citric finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Smooth and pretty damn delicious.

Hazy amber, little head, not much lacing. Lots of hops in the aroma, typical citrus and pine also. Taste is smooth. Hops are there, but donít overpower. Well balanced. Poured it cold, maybe it will loosen up as it warms. Light to medium body. Fairly simple and smooth. Even at 6% it feels sessionable. 071812

I get quite a bit of toasty, spruce, clove of this one. Loos good in the glass, golden with a little hazyness and a good head on it. Very hoppy but not as balanced as some other ones. Had it with some hot wings and it held up nice. I will try again for sure.

Aroma- flowery hops, hint of malty sweetness. App- nice strong head with great retention, good lacing. Taste- Strong flowery hop bitterness, with a subtle malty sweetness, taste very similar to aroma. Medium mouthfeel with light carbonation. Palate- long lasting aftertaste, hop bitterness lingers for some time, but is not overpowering due to the balance with sweet malt. Ovr- A great example of a *relativly hoppy IPA. A personal fav of mine when im out.

Clear dark golden with a big head on it. Lots of floral hops, with some citrus as well. Very easy drinking IPA. Quite sessionable.

[bottle] Weak aroma that is sweet and has some banana and malt. Hazy yellow copper with a ton of foam (probably over carbonated or infected). Sweet and slightly sour flavour of base malt with some ethanol and assertive hops bitterness. Only detectable hops (IPA?). Light to medium body, high carbonation, slightly bitter, worty finish.

spruce and citrus hops abound in on the nose and on the palate in this satisfying Manitoba IPA. another solid addition to the half pints line-up.

On tap. It is a nice one, not too bitter, noticeable malt backbone, slight tartness. Pretty good.
