COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our buddy Phil is a friend of good beer, so Phil’s Pils must be impressive ode to good taste. Thankfully (Phil would say) it’s the polar opposite of most Pilsners available today. Brewed using two-row pale, melanoidin, and crystal malts, this lager is chock full of malty goodness on top of German Hallertau and Czech Saaz hops. This brew is also dry hopped with a blend of Mount Hood and more Saaz. Our Pils actually tastes like malt & hops – what a novel idea! Try it with a slow smoked rack of ribs or a wedge of Pepper Jack cheese. Serve at 6 C. in a Pilsner glass. Unfiltered. 30 IBU

Bottle shared by fred82, thanks! Great grassy, hay hop aroma with a good dose of cereal malts. Light hopiness to follow with more good cereal, bready malts. Light bitter finish, quite dry, but very refreshing. Good pils!

Bottle purchased 01/04/2011. Colour is dark mustard with bright white low head. Nose: Toast with marmalade, pickle juice, sap, touch fishy and quite sour...not pleasent. Taste: Medium sweet, medium bitter, medium sour. This is better, very evident hops and vanilla malt, spackle of honey and nice long finish.

Highly carbonated, big frothy white head. Two malts really shine. I can tell this is a Canadian brew. Nice Saaz hops in the nose with some buscuity malts. Well balanced. Firm dry finish. Essentially a well made dry hoppy pils. Nice.

It pours a cloudy golden color with a white head that quickly vanishes to a thin ring. It has a nice amount of carbonation. On the nose I am getting a good dose of citrus and some pine notes and a little honey. The flavor has some solid malts, as well I am getting some honey, citrus. This is pretty well done. There is spiciness but that is coming more from the 2 different hops and dry hoping. It finishes with a lingering spiciness from the sazz hops. These guys never fail to churn out great beer. Wouldn’t mind another of these. It’s suppose to be a pilsner but seems to more of a pale ale.

Bottle thanks to Piscator34. Clear rich yellow pour, ongoing carbonation and a mellow honey and light hops aroma. Flavor starts out with a rich creamy malt, light pear, sugar and sweet on the finish. Not bad, I would definitely pick up a 6 pack of this if regularly available to me.

One of my favourite pilsners. Initial sweetness and nice bitter finish. Good balance of malt and hops. Interesting aromas and taste for a pilsner; quite varied and different. Not on par with the Humulus Ludicrous, but what is?

12oz bottle pours a transparent, slightly hazy gold with a thin, creamy white head. Nose is sweet, malty, light yeast, light honey. Flavor is sweet, light lemon juice, grass, malty, a little honey. Finish is light and slightly watery. A little nondescript.

Bottle 355 ml at Volo - Toronto ml
Appearance: slight haze presented on golden base. Large bright top with fragmented lace. 3+
Aroma: light gentle aroma of grassy meadow like hop. Floral with some citrus above. 6-
Flavour/Body/Palate: soft citrus with grainy follow up. Bit to dry for my likes , soapy green hop behind. Lager should not have so many fruity accents , especially pils. Finishing with fruity sourness. Flawed.

[2827-20100407] 341mL bottle. Sweet strong honey aroma. Slightly hazy, medium orange light brown body with a quick foamy white head. Grainy toast flavour has a bit of a citrus flare aftertaste. Medium body. OK, thought it would be worse with the aroma but thankfully not.
