COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Finally, something to look forward to this Pothole season! Brewed using pale, crystal, chocolate, and melanoidin malts. Finish hopped with UK Fuggles, and aged with french oak. Cool fermented and lagered out for a sweet, toasty finish.

Bottle (650 ml). Traded by northropfrye, thanks Andrew! Dark brown with a small beige head and some lacing. Aroma of toffee (intense), raisins and slight smoke notes. Taste is sweet and sugary with lot of toffee, raisins and slight bitter finish. Mouthfeel is a bit thin. Alcohol is well hidden. Good complexity and right on style. Too sugary for my liking though... low drinkability.

Much appreciation to cards04 for this one. Deep brown with a tan head. Lots of chocolate in the aroma. Some oak. Sweet and toasted. Good body with a real cocoa finish.

Bottle. Thick imperial stout like pour with a nice finger of of creamy chocolate head with good staying power. Aroma, chocolate, roast, coffee, and some mild hops. Taste, medium mouthfeel, chocolate, some nice hops, some sharpness from the oak, roasted malts and a big coffee aftertaste. Overall, a really well crafted porter, with nice balance, and a solid amount of complexity. Well done!

On tap, at Barley Brothers in Winnipeg. Dark brown pour. Fairly light aromas, sweet caramel, banana and chocolate notes. Flavour has notes of raisins, plums, cocoa, smoke, and nuts. Full bodied and complex, and nicely balanced. Very good porter.

Drank with Thijs while playing Catan 25-1-2013. Nice dark beer. Strong coffew smell. Coffee taste, a bit smoaked, is dominant in the beginning. It continues however with nice balance, also a slight sweetness. Nice!

Bottle - Chocolate and roast malts. Jet black with a dark brown but substantial head. Bittersweet chocolate, vanilla and some slight oak and a touch of alcohol heat at the finish. Full bodied and delicious.

22 oz bottle courtesy of Chris, served in a stem glass. Pours black with a moderate tan head that remains and leaves a small amount of lace. The nose has dry roasted malts, along with espresso and dark chocolate. A subtle hint of herbal hops is present as well. The flavour is slightly sweet with roasted malts, chocolate and a hint of coffee, along with a touch of herbal hops. The finish is long, roasty and spicy with a slight resinous hop quality. On the palate, it is medium-full with a smooth creamy texture and soft carbonation. Overall, this is a nice porter with espresso notes and dry, roasted malts. 2013-05-03

650ml bottle, pours black with an amber tinge with a small beige head. Aroma of sweetened malts, light caramel malts, and a little cocoa. Flavour brings out caramel, sweet malts, a little cocoa, and some dry notes. Norma’s sweet as I expected, but it is very malt-heavy. Nice stuff.

Pours a very dark ruby brown color with a large, long-lasting mocha-colored head. Sorghum and chocolate liqueur on the nose. Mouthfeel is moderately thick with a bit of liveliness getting expressed mid-way through. The fizzy feature settles the longer the beer warms. Cherry, fig, chocolate, sour wood, and sorghum flavors. All sort of occurring simultaneously. Very complex brew.

Dark brown with a thin tan head. Complex aroma and taste -- chocolate, toffee, roasted malt, dark fruit, woodiness. Very nice.
