COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Stir Stick Stout is robust with ruby highlights and a generous addition of fresh ground, locally roasted Ethiopian Yirgacheffe coffee. The beans lend a distinct chocolate aroma that blends well with the roasted barley and malty sweetness. A woody bitterness from the Fuggles hop variety rounds out this ale and makes it the perfect match for barbequed buffalo burgers or sweet desserts like chocolate lava cake. Serve in a glass at 8 degrees celcius. Unpasturised.

Half Pints Stir Stick Stout 22 oz bottle Moderate pour in a snifter. Recent brewing, stirred 08/07 Poured black with brown highlights with a moderate light brown fizzy mostly diminishing head. Smelt of moderate chocolate, and light coffee. Taste was upfront bitter moderate roast to burnt grain and coffee and light chocolate followed by more of the same, with a slight almost metallic or green twang on an average finish. Palate was light bodied, lively carbonated, slightly oily and lightly astringent. Overall, this is an easily drinkable coffee stout. Not the richest or most powerful, but a good summer stout. Great chocolate nose!

Another great selection from cards04. Pours dark with a light brown head. Medium body with nice coffee and chocolate tones. Good job at controlling bitterness. Finish is smooth and roasty.

Bottle poured a clear dark reddish brown with a lasting tan head. Aromas of roasted malt, bakers cocoa and light cofee. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of roasted malt and bakers cococa with a smooth lingering roasty finish.

Bottle: Black...with a small tan head. Scent is coffee, dark chocolate, a little cola. Mild ashy bittering. A very nice stout....simple, but right on the mark.

ENG: 341ml bottle from Liquor Mart in Winnipeg. Poured into the tulip, gives opaque black color with red highlights and a medium brown head with a bit of lacing. Aromas of coffee. Mostly coffee taste with hints of ash, roasted malts, chocolate, herbs. I think it’s a bit too watery. Aftertaste is really mild, only a bit bitter. Medium carbonation and light to medium body. Overall quite flat palate, taste, watery body. Nothing special here.

PL: Butelka 341ml zakupiona w Liquor Mart w Winnipeg. Przelana do kieliszka, barwa smolista z lekkimi czerwonymi przebłyskami, średnią brązową pianą, nieco lejsingu. Aromaty kawowe. W smaku również głównie kawa z nutami popiołu, palonych słodów, czekolady i ziół. Wydaje mi się, że jest nieco wodniste. W posmaku łagodne, ledwo wyczuwalna goryczka. Średnie nasycenie, lekkie do średniego odczucie w ustach. Podsumowując dosyć jednolite w smaku, aromacie, wodniste. Bez szału.

Thanks to Ryan for this. Pours black with a big frothy brown head. Aroma is light coffee, roasted malts and a touch of nut. Taste is much the same, well made basic stout.

Bottle to half-pint glass (thanks cards04). Looks good; a slightly translucent dull dark cola with foamy beige head. Smells of dark malt, chocolate, and a bit of roast. Tastes like it smells with a medium-bodied mouthfeel. A good example of the style.

Murky sepia, thin cream collar. Lightly earthy coffee, faint chocolate, muted but without large error. Flavor lightly sweeter, chocolate early with heavy toast accents mid, nutty with bark and earth throughout but largely in finish, sticky full body accenting softness.

Bottle shared by Iphonephan at the DC Pre-Thanksgiving tasting. Thanks! Poured a dark brown color with a light tan head. Aroma was nicely roasted malts, some coffee. Flavor was bitter roasted coffee, some caramel, touch of dark chocolate. Not too heavy, which lends it to easy drinking.
