Holy shit! Thanks to Brewmaster Dave for parting with his last bottle of this one! This was startlingly nice considering its age. Pours hazy amber, thin off-white head, spotty/poor lacing. Carbonation is quite soft. Nose is lovely Belgian yeast, red fruit, toffee, light spiciness. Flavors of butterscotch, spicy cinnamon and cardamom, white pepper, great fruit. Really nice!

hazy amber with some suspended sediment. Great aroma dark fruit aroma strong and bold with lots of malt character. Flavour is rich and fruity. Notes of bread very Belgian. This is very nice. Smooth drinkable fruity. Notes of yeast. This is an old bottle and it sure has stood up to time. Great beer. I hope to finish the trilogy some day. But it’s a long shot although it never thought I would never try the father. Thanks kyle.

UPDATED: MAR 27, 2009 Thanks Derek Hyde for sharing, produced in 2007. A yeasty though sourish beer, not quite what I expect from a dubbel, more of an experiment. Rising carbonation bubbles and good off-white head and some lacing. A little boozy, a little woodsy. Medium mouthfeel, yeast makes it a bit creamy. Drying.
