3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 pintbypint (1473) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 11, 2011
341ml brown bottle with unnecessary greenish white wax on the cap. This is an older bottle since the last batch was released in bombers and this has the old Half Pints label design. Deep gold colour, hazy, full white head. Good lace. Nose has nice soft lemon peel citrus hints. Nice wheaty flavour, tangy citrus-lemon notes but not as much clove or banana as I would expect in a hefeweizen. Dryish finish. Body is light, soft carboantion which serves the beer well. Not bad as is, but a fresher bottle will be sought and a rerate is pending.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 reebtogi (1524) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - NOV 4, 2011
650ml bomber pours a nice hazy golden color with a finger of white head and some thin lacing. Aroma is banana and cloves with some yeast and light hops. Taste is banana and cloves with the yeast and an underlying malt sweetness with a crisp hoppy bitter finish. This is a pretty darn good hefeweizen.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 pushkinwow (728) - Ontario, CANADA - OCT 6, 2011
Bomber - thanks tbadiuk (Ted). Slightly hazy gold with a creamy white head. Good blend of hops, light malts, banana, some spice, yeast, light smoke, and wheat. Nice carbonation, little thin but still tasty, slightly bitter, dry finish, banana, cloves and yeast at the end. Good.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 Fred82 (1757) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - AUG 10, 2011
Bomber from most recent batch. About a month old.
Appearance : Almost clear yellow with small head. Nice lacing.
Aroma : Great yeasty phenols. Nice notes of banana with light spicy notes. Nice wheat.
Taste : Great wheat with banana and spices. Finish banana bread with light hops and very light bitterness.
Overall : Poured the second half with a much yeast as I could. Nose gets a bit more yeasty but not that much. Taste gets a little bit more mellow with a bit more yeast and feels more rounded. Carbonation is also rather soft (got a bit softer after I shook the bottle to get all the yeast). Very refreshing and drinkable. Very nice wheat and yeast. Really nice hefeweizen.

Bottle. A nice hefeweizen from Half Pints. Too bad this is retired now. Very nice.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Powertrip (756) - Calgary, Alberta, CANADA - MAY 14, 2011
Single bottle purchased in Calgary, AB from Enoteca Wine & Spirits on 05/07/2011. Colour: Slightly clouded light orange with minimal decent size white head that quickly vanishes. Nose: Distinct mustard smell...and not the good stuff, but mass produced sugary stuff. Crab apples, wheat, onion. Taste: Light sweet, medium-light sour, light bitter. Lots of stringent wheat, some vanilla, un-ripe tomato. Mid-range stuff, but really happy I found a lone bottle, considering its no longer being produced!
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Scubaguy (230) - Alberta, CANADA - JAN 29, 2011
It pours a cloudy golden color with a small white head that quickly vanishes to a small ring.
On the nose I am getting some strong yeast notes and a little banana.
The flavor is brought together with some banana, wheat and a little fruitiness and how could I forget the yeast.
It finishes is pretty much dominated by clove and some faint hops. It is not a bad hefe by any means but nothing amazing either. If you are really into wheat’s than it is worth a shot.
