Dark brown colour, beige head. Malty aroma, bread dough, some light sweetness. Sweet malty flavour. Finish malty with slight tones of caramel and roasted malts.

Grima (2035) - Saarburg, Rhineland-Palatinate, GERMANY - AUG 3, 2011
Dark brown, slightly reddish beer with soapy foam. Smells caramelly, spicy. Starts quite mild, pleasant malty, caramelly, slightly sweet and very spicy. The middle part has a slight hop aroma, which can not prevail against the heavy malz body. The finish is very malty, slightly dry, with decent bitterness.

Bottle: Amber to deep amber coloured, no head to speak of, light to moderate sweetish aromas of toasted and burnt malt, a light metallic tinge underneath; moderate sweetish flavour, medium bodied, soft; moderate sweetish-caramelly finish. Quite a monotonous, boring Bock......

Bottle looks simple, but good. Beer in the glass light brown, small head. Starts quite mild for a bock of this strengh, fine malty, more dry than sweet. Finish well balanced, stronger maltiness. Although I prefer the sweeter strong bocks, this one is really good!

MoritzF (8250) - Bochum, GERMANY - OCT 11, 2010
(bottle, 33cl) Clear, reddish brown colour with a medium-sized tanned foamy head. Slightly sweet and toasty malty aroma with notes of caramel, peanuts and sugar beet. Sweet flavour, just medium to full bodied with a smooth carbonation. Slightly toasted malt character with caramel, nutty and subtle fruity notes; sweet and minimally toasted malty finish with a well-covered alcohol. Nevertheless a bit plain I would say. 11.X.10
