The bottle looks not bad, the beer in the glass also. Copper coloured, not much foam. Starts very washy, only modest malty. The finish is a bit drier. An average beer!

Bottle marked 27.06.12. Floral nose with a spritzy of citrus, just super, super juicy. Body a transparent chestnut brown with amber highlights and a sudsy beige head. Taste quite sweet, some caramel with light grain and lots of wild floral notes, maybe even some honey, and the very low bitterness comes in as earthy and pleasant. Rather like the whole thing, actually. Easy-going carbonation, medium body, maybe a touch of industry, but there was never a doubt this was from anywhere other than southern Germany.

Koelschtrinker (7060) - Köln (Cologne), North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - APR 9, 2012

International Green Week, Berlin 2012: our second day and Hall 20 is full of goodies, products from Niederschen, Bremen, Baden-Wurttemberg, Thuringen, Hessen, Rheinland-Pfalz all competing with each other. This brewery had a lovely bar area and my wife and I found a tall table to lean against while tasting their Pilsner and then this landbier Mohrenkopfle. Draught 0.3 litre in a vase shaped glass: clear amber/copper body with a well formed white foaming head on top. The head stayed and produced some heavy lacing. Malts rule the nose and taste: caramel and toffee hints in both, the beer turns slightly bitter towards the end of the mouthfeel as the hops kick in after being hidden by the stronger malty molasses that give it the colour and flavours. Different and enjoyable with the alcohol content just about noticed in the finish.

Bottle 33cl, a clear amber beer with low head. Nose is on caramel malt and vegatable. Aroma is dry, metallic, bit dusty, caramel malt notes with some slightly sourness. High hoppy bitter finish, body is medium to low with a vegetable presence, not my favorite in this style.

Grima (1574) - Saarburg, Rhineland-Palatinate, GERMANY - MAY 11, 2011
The beer in the glass is copper colored, with a flat head. Roasty-malty aroma, with slight honey nuances. Starts delicious malty, slightly roasty, with lots of honey aroma. The aftertaste is also very honey-like, with strong malt body. The finish is dominated by the honey aroma, coupled with a pleasant hop aroma, good spiciness, and some roasted malts.

Bottle 33cl. @ home.
Clear medium amber color with a average to large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, grain, straw, molasses, caramel, malt dusty. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is light medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. [20091028]

Bottle. Toffee malt and hay aroma. Copper color with small head. Toffee malt with mild barnyard flavor and a grassy hops finish. Very nice bottled Kellerbier.
