COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hearty chocolate smells waft up from this traditional Irish Red as a surprisingly spicy hop bouquet brings its richness alive. It’s a subtle complexity. A mouth swill will anoint your palate with caramel and chocolate malts and a hint of Mocha. The malt is really given the lead role here – supported by the hops performing a delightful tingle in the mid-palate. The silky smooth flavour then slips off nicely to leave a very refined and long dry hop finish.

A nice amber pour with a light carbonation. Palate was a little short, and was expecting more malt influence. Little astringent in the after taste.

The malt comes through on the nose, but aroma fades quickly. But in the mouth is where this one shines through, subtle notes of caramel and chocolate, but the hops are certainly there, tingling and leaving a bitter-sweet after taste. A nice, session-able ale.

330ml bottle. Small creamy off-white mostly lasting good lacing head, opulent hazy copper amber gold hue. Robust toasted roasted malt, molasses, light hoppy - fruity including raspberry, floral, leather, kelp/rocky shore, smoke aromas are very pleasant. Moderate sweet and bitter and faint sour taste. Light to medium body, creamy oily syrupy texture, soft carbonation, smooth chalky dry finish. Interesting, nice enough but not too memorable.

On tap. Pours a dark copper colour with a creamy head which quickly thins. Slightly fruity aroma with hints or caramel. Tastes dry with good malt flavours. Soft bitterness, really easy to drink alot of it.

(On tap) Warm, amber golden with an off-white head. Aroma of fruit and caramel. Fairly light in body yet with a distict malt base. Dry and lightly smoked malt accents with a dry finish. One of very few Irish Ales with some personality. 080208

Draught at the brew pub, a clear and dark copper with a foamy off-white head. A woody malt aroma,a little resiny. In the mouth it is piney, with wood chips and some molasses sweetening it. The palate is quite bitter, but also with syrupy characteristics. A solid beer, but falls short of being really satisfying.

Amber in colour, definitly red in colour, more malty aroma, can’t find any choclate as tatseing notes provided suggest, but can find passionfruit. big floral hop aroma.
