3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 reviled (13) - Auckland, - JAN 27, 2009On tap. Pours a dark copper colour with a creamy head which quickly thins. Slightly fruity aroma with hints or caramel. Tastes dry with good malt flavours. Soft bitterness, really easy to drink alot of it.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 DylansDad (157) - NEW ZEALAND - APR 19, 2013
Aroma: caramel, chocolate, hint of floral. Again, what I would call a Xmas cakey kind of note. Some spice. Taste is thick and malty at the front, then immediately thins out down the back of your tongue offering its spice and bitterness and a little warmth. Tastes good but I find the mouthfeel a let down

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 horotane (18) - NEW ZEALAND - MAR 22, 2013
Perhaps it was this sampling of the beer, though it was thin - in head, in palate, in depth of flavour. Otherwise lovely assortment of malts, just not as provocative as its namesake.
2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 Pdubyah (108) - Auckland, NEW ZEALAND - JAN 8, 2013
This is like getting a gift voucher from your wife. Bereft. This has all the body of a soap sud, There’s no length, and nothing that you could actually enjoy on the taste buds. How can you produce a beer that promises so much and delivers just "meh".
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Jimthechap (1194) - Christchurch, NEW ZEALAND - SEP 6, 2012
So this does what it says on the label: it has definitely got a lovely reddish hue about it with a thinnish skim of off-white head across the top. Aromas of roasty malt that put you in mind of freshly baked bread, scones and maybe, just maybe a hint of cocoa. There’s spices discernible there that tend toward mace and cardamon. I see what the blurb on the bottle is getting at. It is silky and easy at first and the malts take centre stage becoming alternately chocolate and then caramel before giving way to soft, juicy autumn fruits. As it sits it reminds you of the fizzy charm of the carbonation and subtle hints of spice. This isn’t a loud shouty ale at all but a sweet, generous charmer like the Irish girlfriend you wish you had, but once possibly knew. Analogy aside it brings out the chocolate once again on the second taste and you’re in love all over again. I have a real like for this beer (as if you couldn’t tell).
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 omega (488) - NEW ZEALAND - FEB 6, 2012
A nice amber pour with a light carbonation. Palate was a little short, and was expecting more malt influence. Little astringent in the after taste.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 buzz_and_hum (144) - Wellington, NEW ZEALAND - APR 14, 2011
The malt comes through on the nose, but aroma fades quickly. But in the mouth is where this one shines through, subtle notes of caramel and chocolate, but the hops are certainly there, tingling and leaving a bitter-sweet after taste. A nice, session-able ale.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 beer4eternity (198) - Tauranga, NEW ZEALAND - FEB 17, 2011
330ml bottle. Small creamy off-white mostly lasting good lacing head, opulent hazy copper amber gold hue. Robust toasted roasted malt, molasses, light hoppy - fruity including raspberry, floral, leather, kelp/rocky shore, smoke aromas are very pleasant. Moderate sweet and bitter and faint sour taste. Light to medium body, creamy oily syrupy texture, soft carbonation, smooth chalky dry finish. Interesting, nice enough but not too memorable.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Papsoe (25131) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - FEB 17, 2008
(On tap) Warm, amber golden with an off-white head. Aroma of fruit and caramel. Fairly light in body yet with a distict malt base. Dry and lightly smoked malt accents with a dry finish. One of very few Irish Ales with some personality. 080208
