COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hearty chocolate smells waft up from this traditional Irish Red as a surprisingly spicy hop bouquet brings its richness alive. It’s a subtle complexity. A mouth swill will anoint your palate with caramel and chocolate malts and a hint of Mocha. The malt is really given the lead role here – supported by the hops performing a delightful tingle in the mid-palate. The silky smooth flavour then slips off nicely to leave a very refined and long dry hop finish.

On tap. Pours a dark copper colour with a creamy head which quickly thins. Slightly fruity aroma with hints or caramel. Tastes dry with good malt flavours. Soft bitterness, really easy to drink alot of it.

[8206-20160509] Tap. Sweet maple-infused toasted grassy grains aroma has a light floral note. Clear, olden amber body with a medium-lasting foamy white head. Toasted grainy light malt flavour has a light bitter finish. Medium body. Interesting. (6/3/6/3/12) 3.0

2016-05-09. Copper amber body, moderate head. Aroma of green hops over malt that has a softly earthy quality to it. Flavour is a bit of an odd combination at first, lightly sweet malt base, moderately fruity and lightly bitter hop character that I can’t quite place. Very smooth average bodied palate, soft carbonation. 3+ Nice but it does not suit my mood today. 6/3/6/3-4/13 On tap at Hallertau Brewbar, Auckland, NZ.

Draught - The Food Truck Garage, Auckland. Poured a deep chestnut amber with a small and fading though lacy off-white head. Solid grassy hops, a nuttiness (predominantly on the nose) some caramel, yeast and aromatic fruits along with a light toasted malt component. Light to medium body, soft to medium carbonation and a medium intensity though lingering finish.

Aroma: caramel, chocolate, hint of floral. Again, what I would call a Xmas cakey kind of note. Some spice. Taste is thick and malty at the front, then immediately thins out down the back of your tongue offering its spice and bitterness and a little warmth. Tastes good but I find the mouthfeel a let down
