3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Clear amber color. Little to no head at all with this. Was a bit of a gusher when opening.
Nose is of oak, wine, vinegar, funk, and also stone fruit. Chardonnay presence is very dominant.
Oak, vinegar, wine taste. Very high acid taste but not enamel ripping. Some slight fruit in the background but more the oak and wine.
A bit thin in the mouth but the acid and wine character holds up well. Good carbonation carries the beer nicely.

Bottle shared with nate2g and Brent, thanks! Gusher. Cloudy amber color, thin white edge head. Aroma of sour white wine and summer fruit. Taste is softly sour peach, apricot. Nice.

2011 vintage, 750ml. Interesting beer from the boys at Hallertau as sour beers are not the norm in this locale. Not overly carbonated and has a soft mouthfeel. Colour is a rich cloudy brown tinged with red. Not as sour as I was expecting and through the middle the oak come through before finishing with a lingering sourness. Not sure if this is going to make Steve rich (actually I can guarantee it won’t), but good to see something different than the hop monsters of late. Would also question the 750ml size as I feel this is a better beer suited for 330ml.
