Some say she’s the luxe life. Exuberant. Snappy. Bright. Chatty. Sunlit. Lush. Passionfruit. Blueberries. Sparkling. Refined. Considered. Dry. And frankly, refreshing.

I don’t get a length of taste or a depth. So I would then describe this as "thin" all over. Lacks body, lacks a defining taste. I for sure don’t get fruits, other than a vague passing passionfruit. Disappointed that I didn’t enjoy this more because I wanted to.

500ml bottle. Aroma is light fruity. Poured light straw with nice head and good lacing. Medium bitterness is followed by a subdued but refreshing crisp hop finish. Really rather nice.

[8203-20160509] Tap. Light greeny leaf aroma. Clear, bright light yellow green body with a medium-lasting foamy white head. Mild grassy straw flavour. Light-medium body. Average. (6/3/5/3/11) 2.8

2016-05-09. Crisp yellow body, nice white head. 3+ Aroma is pleasantly hoppy, floral grassy hops over mild pale malt. Flavour is pleasant, pale malt with doughy touches and mild Grassy bitterness. Average bodied palate, good carbonation. Mild but pretty nice. 7/3-4/7/3/14 On tap at Hallertau Brewbar, Auckland, NZ.

Nope, pretty unmemorable beer. Rather bland and sweet. Didn’t give me fruit or happiness

Mild hop aroma with a fruity note. Flavor is of Pilsner malt, fruity yeast and light phenols (wasn’t expecting that). Clean bitterness and a soft finish. Doesn’t really say kolsch to me.

Um ja, I’d also go the moral free lusty busty blonde German girl in a bikini Jimthechap refers to, from no doubt ’mammaries’ from one of his many excursions into the verboten hinterlands of beer swilling Bavaria of old. Oh, to live it, swilling a stein of this would not be too bad, ja gut, but well, what is it exactly, a specialty beer based on a German bier brewed in Koln as they the brewers claim? (lovely place Koln by the way, there in 1982). Yes, it is straw coloured, and it reeks of hops, it is dry, like a real good lager should be actually, and, it works very well in its present state. So, a good brew, and with a story, thanks to Jimthechap, to boot.

The head is good for a kölsch, body is golden. It smells sweet, malty, mild. The taste is malty, thin, almost not hoppy, bit yeasty, mild, boring - good for a kölsch...

In one word: Clean. Two words: Clean and light. I could go on. Crisp. In a way, this beer occupies the same bland/light/refreshing ground as countless other wretched macro lagers, yet without the industrial adjunct misery. Clinical in its execution, this beer goes down like water, but in a good way. Each mouthful left me wanting another. Slight hop presence sitting on a slightly fruity then nutty malt. lightly carbonated and good-looking. One of the most sessionable beers I’ve tasted.
