Tastes alcoholic but less so than it is, hops are the main flavour with underlying malt. No good for driving home. Good if dig the beer herbs.

Slightly cloudy medium sized head, diminishes quickly. Lemon peel, lychee, honey, pine, pepper, grass, cookie dough. Alcohol sweet, round bitter finish. Great fuller flavoured beer.

UPDATED: AUG 16, 2011 750ml bottle from the brewery and tap (cask?) at Galbraith’s. Hazy orange-gold pour with a short, white head leaving heavy lace. Citrus, fruit and pine nose. Medium-heavy body and moderate carbonation (light carbonation on tap) with subtle alcohol burn. Spruce, grapefruit, orange juice, peaches and apricot, supported by a caramel malt body. Hop profile predominates in the bottled version, but Stuntman is more balanced and smoother on tap. Long, bitter and sweet finish that is vaguely oily and cheesy. Very late there is more grapefruit. Bettered by their Hopocalypse Now in several ways, but will still be enjoyed by hopheads. About a 3.5 in the bottle, find it on tap for heaps more taste and complexity!

On tap at Hashigo Zake.[] Big palate, creamy and oily and sticky. Murky brown colour- reminds me of raw cider. Big hops. Big. Citrus, floral, resin everything but herbal. A wee bit sweet. Certainly bitter, sour?
GOOD.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Vas (64) - NEW ZEALAND - JAN 7, 2011
On tap @ Hashigo Zake. After an Idiot IPA this was the perfect tonic. Gargantuan hop aroma in a cloudy, golden glass. The flavour was an uppercut delivered by a brick of sweet malt wrapped in layer upon layer of hops. Was it too good or too much I could barely tell. Thank the gods it only comes in 300ml glasses.

Pours murky orange, thin white head. Aroma is quite subdued, lemon zest hops with spicey undertone.
Flavour is huge, zesty lemon bitterness, very strong. Saved by some spice, then the bit biting bitterness returns for the long finish. I can feel that alcohol, brutal and tasty.
2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 TheGrandMaster (2313) - Auckland, NEW ZEALAND - NOV 10, 2007
Draught at the brew pub, a dark copper with a large foamy off white head. Plenty of hopping coming through in the aroma, with the alcoholic qualities of a liquor. In the mouth - wow - that’s some strong alcohol! It kind of dominates the hops, leaving a sweet maltiness. They call it a big beer, but I think it might just be too much. Myabe I’m just not brave enough....

Suttle mild hop aroma, is well balanced and hides the alcohol well. Is a must for any big hop head
