16/V/2012 - 30cl bottle @ De Zeeuwse Hoek (Terneuzen) - BB: n/a (2012-506)

Cloudy purple brown beer, big creamy beige head, very stable, very adhesive leaving a nice lacing. Aroma: lots of milk chocolate, some caramel, bready, dried fruits. Mf: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: quite some caramel, very fruity, orange, orange peel, raisins, some spices, bit of citric hops. Aftertaste: very fruity, citrus, little soapy, bit watery in the finish.

Not a particular fan of this one. The spices in this one can be a bit overwhelming. Caramel sweetness and a thick head. Tried with Dave on Neeltje Jans.

Dark brown colour. Thick but light foamy head. Flavour is sweet. There’s a fruity sweetness and also some caramel. Nice smooth taste.

Cloudy brown, light tan head. Looks very tasty. Sweet and sour candy, lychee, nutmeg and pineapple. Interesting milky sourness hidden behind the typical Belgian medium sweet base and big carbonation. Funny aftertaste, which is short and solid. Bit sticky, unfortunately. Special beer, interesting to try but not quite my taste. (75cl bottle, cheap)

I really like this beer. Nice brown colour with some redness shining through. Smells pretty nice: sweet, caramel, raisins.. But not too much like in some other ’dubbel’ beers. Tastes very balanced sweet but fresh at the same time. Good mouthfeel with not too much co2, full body.

Dark ruby pour with a decent sized white/off-white head. Barely any lacing, but it’s there. Smells of sour cherries, carbon, sourness. Tastes the same but more sour than sweet. Thin, over-carbonated. Not that good.

Bottle at home. Clear brown color with a small tan head. Aroma of caramel, candy sugar, roasted malts and some dark fruits. Flavor is sweet and somewhat fruity, slightly roasted and a bit bitter and with a hint of licorice in the finish. Nice balance. Creamy texture and lively carbonation. Nice brew.
