(Bottle 30 cl) Courtesy of jbrus. Dark brown with an orange hue, floating impurities and a small, beige head. Somewhat burned caramel notes in the nose. Quite full-bodied with plenty of roasted malt and burned caramel notes. Very subdued bitterness. Quite surprised to see this labeled as a Belgian Strong, to me it appears to be a rather classical and lovely Doppelbock. 160907

Clear brown cola like beer, nice aery beige head, pretty stable, non adhesive. Aroma: sweet sugary, some caramel, bit sourish, metallic, overripe fruits. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: little sourish, ripe forest fruits, sweet caramel, raisins, other dried fruits, some mocha, citric, bitter hops. Aftertaste: caramel, sweet sugary, little bitter.

Dark, dark brown color. Small off-white head with a little bit of lacing. Sweet molasses and coffee aroma. Slight alcohol aroma. Taste is the same, with hints of raisins added in. Dry. Not bad.

Bottle. The aroma is very malty, also like a wine, light sweet. The small beige fizzy head has a short duration, the body is dark brown. A very malty taste which reminds me of a wine, light bitter finish. The body is medium strong, creamy and light oily with a lively carbonation.

Dark bread flavor with some citrus. Nice red color. Slightly acidic. From a bottle, can’t remember where I got it.

Brown, almost clear body with small tan head. Medium carbonation. Unsurprising malty aroma with caramel, dough, pear and cloves. Light sweet taste, quite dry and not very complex. Run of the mill dubbel style ale. (75cl bottle)

Bottle, tfs Vaiz! Cloudy dark brown blackish pour, large tanned head. Faint aroma of roasted malt. Flavour is almost non existent, yes, there is some roasted malt, spice and an unknown something, but all very thin and with a watery palate. Only the alcohol is clearly noticeable.

The name of this brew sounds nice to me, loosely translated to ’Heavy Arms’. A bit thin in the aroma though, not that heavy as the name suggests. The flavor is also quite out of balance, alcoholic and with too much roasted malts together with almost no body. Quite bad attempt at a heavily armed beer.
