Bottle. The aroma is very malty, also like a wine, light sweet. The small beige fizzy head has a short duration, the body is dark brown. A very malty taste which reminds me of a wine, light bitter finish. The body is medium strong, creamy and light oily with a lively carbonation.

Clear crisp dark red-brown beer with a foamy head and lots of column bubblies. Smell is caramel, coriander, cumin. Metal and hints of sourwood, leather and sweetness. Taste is bitter sweet. Quite dry, nice caramel/honey sweetness. Wood. Cottage cheese, maybe nuts.

Bottle at home. APPEARANCE: dark blond beer with nice stable head. NOSE: very sweet, caramel, somewhat fruity. TASTE about the same, nothing special here.

Spiced ’massive ale’ from a brewery in Hulst in the southwestern Netherlands, close to the Belgian border. Rocky, yellowish white, stable head, colour dark bronze with reddish hue, misty. Malty and bit yeasty aroma with impressions of caramel, cereals, chocolate, pear, banana, brown bread, cloves, bayleaf... Soft fruity and malty, sweetish taste, bit chocolatey, quickly evolving into a spicy dryness in which the - effectively used - bayleaf reveals itself, as well as a vague sourness from the rye; hoppy tail. Quite nice, actually.

0,75cl bottle shared Appearance: Amber brown with hardly a head, foating particles show up hallfway the bottle. Aroma: sweet caramelised malts and a bit of fruit, thin and not that complex Taste: Sweet caramelised malts, alcohol, honey cereals. Dry finish Thin watery body, slightly above medium carbonation. (but too for the body.) I expected much more from this.

Troebel donker roodbruin met vlokken en een lichtbruine kraag. Geur en smaak overrijp fruit, wat gist, caramel en zwarte bessen, beetje zoethout. Body en carbo ok.

30 cl. bottle @ home, bought online @ hetbiermoment.nl. Hazy brown with a tan head. Aroma is sweet malts with some caramel. Taste is likewise and also a bit oxidated. Aftertaste is rather short for such a strong beer. Kinda boring.

UPDATED: SEP 11, 2015 Aroma of roasted malts, caramel, with some dark fruity notes, spices. Flavour is sweet malts. This is a very malty beer, a bit unremarkable, but I enjoyed it.

Extremely cloudy dark dark amber, full of particulate matter. Thin lacy head. Aroma of fruitcake and a bit of menthol. Flavor is very hilly. In parts it tastes sort of like coca-cola; in others, like puffed wheat with honey cereal. Palate is watery for so dark a beer. Overall impression is that something is just a bit off.
