Bottle 30 cl 09-2010. Strange colour with a bit of yeasty smell. Don’t smell a lot of hops or malts. The taste is full of carbondioxide, and it is impossible to taste anything. Not much of a finish (full of water). Quite original though, i love arjoseph’d comment that it’s a copy of orval. Indeed this is also strange and new, but this isnt tasty imo.

Bottle 30cl. Pours a clear golden/orange colour with a small, not lasting head and good carbonation. Yeasty fruity scent, a bit vague but very nicely balanced nonetheless. Taste is a bit empty, fruity, sure, but not much else there.

Bottle at Arendsnest. Kudos to Halve Maan for the very cool Martini glas this was served in. Red amber body with thinnish head. Toasty nose. Very prickly mouthfeel that made it hard to rate. Taste of corn, hops and yeast. I found the taste a bit flat-wanting. But different beer for sure.

Golden/pale amber coloured, medium sized off-white head. Moderate malty, spicy and light yeasty taste with notes of honey and vanilla. A bit watery palate, slightly peppery finish.

Bottle 30cl @ home.
Unclear medium amber orange color with a large, frothy, good lancing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is light to moderate malty, caramel, light yeasty, toffee, some honey notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average duration. Bitternes is shell bitter. Body is light to medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. (040608)

Bottle into tulip, ’t Arendsnest, Amsterdam (3/2008). Almost clear glowing copper with a bacterial-looking dusting of head in an Orval-like glass. Orval-like texture and slightly citrus fruit makes me wonder if this is a clone attempt. It doesn’t have Orval’s spiciness or hops, or wonderfully light and balanced malt profile. Nice and juicy with somewhat dry dark figs in the middle. Smells of gentle spices, sweetness, and an accent of piney sharpness. Solid. I’m surprised it isn’t rated more highly than a 2.93.
