The aroma is very sweet and quite spicy with notes of cinnamon and cloves, but also with hints of berries. The flavor is sweet and very spicy - again cinnamon and cloves, but also with notes of wood and herbs.

Bottle@tasting (1998), 330ml. Head: some off-white foam. Colour: clear, amber. Aroma: glue, caramel. Taste: sweet-sour. Palate: mild, medium bitter finish. Overall: nice.

Sweet liquorice is present in aroma and flavour. Has a slightly sour edge and a sticky sweet aftertaste. The sharp sourness does not sit well with this beer.

Bottle courtesy Jacob one of my students. Creamy off-white almost lightbrown good mostly lasting head. Dark amber colour. Moderate malty and fruuity aroma. Moderate bitter roasted flavor. Chocolate notes. Moderate bitter nice fruity finish. Oily palate.

Bottle. Nice head with good duration. Color is dark brown. Aroma and taste are malt, fruits, caramel and sugar. Slightly sour too.

Bottle. The smell of fresh bread, malt and brown sugar. The head is brown, large and creamy with a normal duration. The body is nearly black. The taste is malty and light sweet. The body is medium strong, creamy and with a rather lively carbonation.

Bottle: Poured a brown with a thick light brown head. Aroma is rusty metal and malt. Taste is acid metal with a roasted caramel malt. Finish is dry and sweet.

From tap. Purs almost cleat deep amber with a diminished off white head. Aroma is dry and breadish aroma, mild spiced. Dry and fruity flavoured with a mild sweetness. Light chemical note to this. Light malty into the finish. Smooth and easy.

Draught at Bokbierfestival 2008. Hazy amber colour. Stable tan head. The flavour is quite caramelly, quite sweet. Yeasty.

Tap @ BBF ’08. Clear dark brown beer, beige head. Aroma of caramel, malts, rye. Flavour of rye, caramel, soft and sweet roasted malts. Medium bodied. More like a dubbel, rather sweet, but nice nevertheless.
