COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Regular.
A 100% malt mash giving a full flavour and a mid-brown colour. North Down hops produce a bitterness which is refreshing and morish. An outstanding session bitter. Hambleton Bitter won Champion Beer at the 1992 Burton on Trent Festival and Runner-up at the 1993 Doncaster Beer-Ex.

Nice and easy drinking but little to distinguish it from other bitters. A very pleasant bitterness to it though.

First tasted this in the Golden Lion, Northallerton in August 1993. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear gold in colour with a thick white head. Strong aroma of dusty hops in the short nose. Thin resiny mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malt base gives a short digestive biscuit note with marmalade fruit. Dusty hop resins impart a dry resiny aftertaste. Slight hint of malt in at the finish. An ok session bitter.

Aroma seems to have minimal hops, slightly sweet biscuity malts. Taste is also sweeter than i wanted, not bitter enough basicly.

[Cask at GBBF 2005] A pale orange beer with a thin white head. The aroma is slightly buttery combined with some notes of hops. The flavor is sweet malty and hoppy, but also with some slight notes of butter, leading to s dry bitter end.
