[500ml bottle - gift from Mum] Shared with Jim. Tastes strongly of black coffee, also a lot of plain chocolate and some tar. Bit of sharp fruit - maybe damsons? Heady - you really get the high alcohol content coming through. Far, far too bitter though, to the point of unpleasantness in the aftertaste. More sweetness would bring the flavours out better. Disappointing after a promising start.

Bottled. Dark brown colour, close to black, mediumsized brownish head. Aroma is caramel malts, some roasted malts as well as coffee and chocolate. Flavour is roasted malts, some burnt wood, chocolate and dark dry fruity notes as well.

Bottle, Ale Cellar, Darlington. Poured a deep dark brown, near enough black really. Not much of a head to speak of.
Malty,chocolate orange aroma. Soft mouthfeel. Sweet, roasted malt flavour with good fruit notes. Dryish finish. A tidy porter for sure.

Bottle. Pours black with a brownish head. Aroma is sweet, malty with toffee. Flavour of roasted malt and toffee.

Dark brown with reddish shine. Aroma of coffee. Flavor is dry from roasted barley but with some sweetness counteracting. Balanced bitterness

Bottle. Pours dark brown with a diminishing light brown head. Small lacing. Sweetish, roasted aroma. Notes of cooked vegetables appear as it warms, but it’s not that bad. Flavour is sweet and roasted as well, with a medium bitterness and liquorice notes. Metallic notes appear as it warms. Finish is coffee and bitter chocolate with a sweet touch. A decent porter. 05-06-08.

Bottled. Tasting @ Kolding Bryglaug. Aroma has roast, coffee and chocolate. Black coloured with an off-white head. Taste is sweet with roasted malts, coffee/chocolate, some fruits and hops. Dry finish. Good one.
