3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 imdownthepub (7494) - Banbury, - JAN 1, 2008
Cask conditioned at The Market Porter, Borough, London. Gold amber with white head. Floral dry and fruity bitter, with the accent towards maltiness, although there is a hint of hoppiness in the shortish bitter finish. Never really gets going enough, fairly average.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 chriso (7065) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 18, 2011
Cask (gravity dispense) at the Pigs Ear Beer Festival, London on 6 December 2006. Golden amber colour. Can’t say I found anything very festive here. Came across as a fairly standard supping bitter with dry malt in the ascendant. Perfectly acceptable in that context but a little anodyne, especially for a beer professing to be a Christmassy number.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 wyzzywyz22 (1524) - Wirral, Merseyside, ENGLAND - DEC 11, 2009
Cask, Lion, Liverpool. Golden, with a thin white head. Lightly fragrant aroma. Some citrus evident with the caramel maltiness in the flavour ; some hops evident towards the finish which was dryish. Low key, yet drinkable. Not really a wintery beer as such, but relatively flavoursome for a 4percenter.

Cask Handpump at the Riverside, Sheffield 13/12/2008
Fruit and hop aromas. Golden coloured fruity and a little rich on the palate. Crisp and slightly bitter malt finish.

Cask at Wellington Arms, Bedford. Gold. Some sweet malt in the aroma and taste, but basically a hoppy golden ale, utterly devoid of Christmas cheer.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 duff (5483) - St, Margarets, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 16, 2007
Cask@Pigs ear BF 06. Quite boring. Some light grassy characters come through, but thats about it. In my notes i’ve written the word boring about 4 times.
2.3 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20 SilkTork (4738) - Rochester, Kent, United Kingdom, WALES - DEC 31, 2006
Pigs Ear. Hoppy and pale malt. Fairly assertive for the strength. A beer that’s kicking out to be noticed, but not doing enough to impress when people do start paying attention. Lingering bitterness.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 harrisoni (10070) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - DEC 22, 2006
Cask conditioned - gravity dispense - Pigs Ear BF. Gold colour with thin off white head. Bit of caramel. Nice hop on end. Nice marmalade fruit. Some good citrus hop on end.
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 maeib (6637) - Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, ENGLAND - DEC 13, 2006
Cask conditioned - gravity dispense - Pigs Ear BF. A golden coloured beer. The aroma has some gloopy sticky smelling hops but a touch of diacetyl. The taste is like the aroma. Also over sweet and a bit too much toffee flavours in the mouth. A touch cloying, but does show signs of good brewing coming through. An enigma.
