COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Regular.
Although the same alcoholic strength as Stallion, Goldfield is very different. Antique gold in colour and lighter in texture, Goldfield is a very easy beer to drink. Not overly bitter with a good clean aftertaste. This beer won first prize at the Weardale Festival in 1993, Goldfield was awarded Champion Beer at the Alloa Festival.

Tasted this Golden Ale in the Three Judges, Glasgow in September 2006. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear pale straw in colour with a thin white head. Dusty hops present in the short aroma. Thin resiny mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malts give a light digestive biscuit flavour with citric fruit evident. Strong dusty hop resins give a sharp astringency to the increasingly bitter aftertaste. Finish is tart and very dry with grapefruit peel present. Not my favourite from the Hambleton portfolio.

Cask, The Cockney pub. Dark golden with nice head. Fruity and citrusy with a nice bitter-dry finish, soft mouthfeel. My kind of british golden ale. As spiesy writes; more-ish.

[Cask at Charlie’s Bar, Copenhagen] A hazy orange beer with a small white head. The aroma is slightly flowery, while the flavor is sweet flowery with a nice hoppy end.
