Porter with a good nose which has a mild roastedness. Easy to drink, black with a small head. Fairly tasty.

Cask (Gallows Bird, Espoo, Fest2013)
Lovely chocolate cake and fresh coffee aroma. Nearly black small spongy head. Lovely full smooth palate. Excellent burnt retronaslas that turn into stale coffee on swallowing. No astringency, though. Some noble hoppy bite too. An excellent English porter. Good drinkability.

Cask Ale tasted at Gallows Bird RAF. Mild nose of cocos and coffee. Beige small head. Dark black brownish color. Soft malty and coffeish taste. Mild hoppiness. At the end hoppy bite.

Cask at Gallow’s Bird real ale festival. Dark brown in color with thin bubbly head. Roasted and then more roasted coffee in aroma. Coffee and sligthly bitter chocolate in taste at first. Has got the same weird taste ast Arbor’s Oyster Stout. Milk chocolate too in aroma later on. Hints of licorice and even some light hoppy notes in finish.

Cask at the Gallows Bird XVI Real Ale Festival, Espoo, Finland. Dark reddish brown almost black colour with small tan head. Roasted malt, coffee and dryness in aroma. Flavour is very dark. Coffee and roasted malt. Very roasted. Not my favourite. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

(Cask at Gallows Bird Real Ale Festival ’13) The beer poured very dark brown and clear. Its head was small and light brown. Aroma had roasted malts and white coffee. Palate was medium bodied with low carbonation. Flavours were roasted malts, burnt malts, white coffee, hops and bitterness. Aftertaste was burnt, ashy and bitter. A well-balanced porter with harsh aftertaste.

Cask @ Gallows Bird Real Ale Festival 2013

Pours pitch black with a tiny head. Aroma of roasty malts, nuts and hints of chocolate. Taste is roasty with notes of nutty malts. Finish is nutty and roasty with some dark chocolate notes. Okay, quite basic but tasty porter.

Cask @ Bon Accord. Rich dark brown colour, reasonable head. Roasted coffee malt aroma. Bitter chocolate malt flavour. Quite smooth but a bit bland & watery.

Bottled. Black with beige head. Chalky nose with some coffee. Dry with clean, rounded mouthfeel and medium body. Mainly coffee flavour, but also some chalk and chlorine. Mid bitter finish.

Dark roasted malt aroma. Quite a rich, oily feel. Flavour is quite dry with a bit of cork. Also roasted malts and some bitter chocolate in the background.
