Cask Conditioned Handpump Market Porter Borough Market. A black beer with a whitish head. A smoky roasty aroma and a full flavoured roasty chocolatey beer. Pretty good fruits in mouth too. Very tasty indeed as well as slick.

Cask (Gallows Bird, Espoo, Fest2013)
Lovely chocolate cake and fresh coffee aroma. Nearly black small spongy head. Lovely full smooth palate. Excellent burnt retronaslas that turn into stale coffee on swallowing. No astringency, though. Some noble hoppy bite too. An excellent English porter. Good drinkability.

500ml bottle. Lovely mellow aroma of roasted malt and coffee. Appearance-wise, very dark brown (near-black) with a good beige head. Sweet chocolate and malt flavour with a nice dry finish and long aftertaste. Smooth and very enjoyable.

Cask at the Prince Arthur (JDW), Fleet. The perfect porter look - pitch black in colour with a thin tan head; aroma of chocolate malt with a tocuh of licorice; Silky chocolate malt taste and feel in the mouth, with some soft fruit, licorice, coffee and smoke mingling in; the finish is dry with a good underlying bitterness. All-in-all an excellent porter.

MesandSim (7119) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 9, 2008
A Sim rate (cask at Hove BF): The aroma could be a cappuccino...definitely coffee, but mellow enough not to be espresso. Chocolate, caramel. Sticky, even in the aroma, if that makes sense. Nice, opaque black, but no head or lace. Chocolatey flavour. It’s Green & Black’s 70% dark. So good, but misses some of hte idiosyncracies of hte aroma.

500ml Bottle - Very dark brown, almost black, with some red tinges. Coffee aroma and roasted malt. Smooth tasting with coffee and some nice roasted malt notes with coffee and a hint of chocolate lingering in the finish. Very nice.

Cask Stillage at The Venue, Miles Platting 22/01/2011 Fruit and hop aromas. Black a little rich on the palate and strong in alcohol with fruity orange and bubble gum flavours. A hint of dryness in a bitter burnt roast finish.

Bottle. A heavy robust porter with lots of coffee and dark chocolate and charcole from the more and well roasted malts. A really memorable, rich porter.

Leighton (9874) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 23, 2010
Cask at the Harp. Pours brown with a medium, off-white head. Dark, roasted malt nose. Bittersweet flavor with plenty of roast, char and tobacco. Light to medium in body with fine carbonation. Finishes with more tobacco and charred wood, fairly dry. Good stuff.
