Cask at the Southampton Arms, London on 7th September 2010. Gold with thin quick-decaying head. Hoppy with citric kick and side-of-mouth bitter note that lingers to a dry finish. Light, smooth mouthfeel.

Cask at the brewery. Golden with a very faint haze, crisp, wheaty, and a little golden fruit tang. Nice bitter finish. More a golden bitter than a (modern) pale ale.

Cask. Brown carmel color, bubbly. Head. Smells of nuts and some dough. Better then most of the bitters I’ve had but nowhere near a true pale ale

GBBF 2011. Light golden colour with a fairly fresh citrus hop aroma. The taste was a bit blander than expected with very muted hop character. Perfectly drinkable, just a bit dull.

Cask-conditioned at the Three Guineas, Reading 7/08/2011. Golden in colour with a decent white head. Light, hay and summer fruits aroma with some grassy hops. Flavour had more fruit, some cereal malts and moderately bitter finish. Fine.

Cask, handpump at FFTMC, Oxford 02.09.10 Pours mid gold with a medium white head, good clarity to this. Fruity nose, good tangy beer, medium bitterness, touch of buzzy bitterness on roof of mouth, yes not bad. A6 A4 T6 P3 Ov13 3.2

Cask (Guide Dog, Southampton) - Golden in colour. Slightly hoppy aroma with hints of lemon and malt. The taste is nicely balanced with malt and hops, but lacks bite. Notes of lemon and grapefruit can be detected in the finish.

Cask (handpump) at the Edgar Wallace, Strand, August 2009. Quite pale gold colour for a bitter. Slightly fruity hop aroma. A little more citric on the palate. All quite understated. Clean and dry mouthfeel. A pleasant enough quaffer but not the most exciting.

Clear medium yellow orange color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, light to moderate hoppy, citrus, orange, fruity. Flavor is moderate sweet and fruity bitter with a average to long duration, fresh. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20090803]
