Cask at the brewery. Golden with a very faint haze, crisp, wheaty, and a little golden fruit tang. Nice bitter finish. More a golden bitter than a (modern) pale ale.

GBBF 2011. Light golden colour with a fairly fresh citrus hop aroma. The taste was a bit blander than expected with very muted hop character. Perfectly drinkable, just a bit dull.

Cask-conditioned at the Three Guineas, Reading 7/08/2011. Golden in colour with a decent white head. Light, hay and summer fruits aroma with some grassy hops. Flavour had more fruit, some cereal malts and moderately bitter finish. Fine.

Cask (Guide Dog, Southampton) - Golden in colour. Slightly hoppy aroma with hints of lemon and malt. The taste is nicely balanced with malt and hops, but lacks bite. Notes of lemon and grapefruit can be detected in the finish.

Cask (handpump) at the Edgar Wallace, Strand, August 2009. Quite pale gold colour for a bitter. Slightly fruity hop aroma. A little more citric on the palate. All quite understated. Clean and dry mouthfeel. A pleasant enough quaffer but not the most exciting.

Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, light to moderate hoppy, citrus, orange, fruity. Flavor is moderate sweet and fruity bitter with a average to long duration, fresh. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20090803]
